Now this is not something I worry about but many Trumpkins here said the trade war was going to stop this. They even suggested stopping the decrease in manufacturing in the US is why we should punish Americans with tariffs.
The truth of the matter is our service economy is growing nicely and things like software production are included as services.
Clearly Trump's protectionist tariffs are having the opposite effect on US American manufacturing as manufacturers are losing export markets because their imported inputs are more costly than their foreign competitors. (It is almost impossible to make say tractor parts in the USA out of tariffed steel and then sell them into South America.)
Hopefully this trade war will accomplish the goals of the multinational US companies quickly and Trump will call off the tariffs.

The administration’s protectionist policies have disturbed companies’ supply chains, stymied investment and slowed hiring. Tariffs on billions of dollars worth of Chinese products helped tip the manufacturing sector into recession earlier this year. Some recent figures suggest stabilization but it remains fragile. Wednesday’s third-quarter GDP report is forecast to show the economy grew at the se

Is manufacturing shrinking, or are other sectors expanding?
Maybe manufacturing has gotten more efficient in the last few decades?
Or...perhaps manufacturing is expanding while other sectors are expanding faster. (This is the correct answer)
You folks are so desperate for a win.

Almost daily we read of the negative impacts of the trade war.
Almost daily we see another seemingly major news piece on the trade war.
Now I post links to these stories and get down voted because Trumpkins do not want to read the stories. They want to deny the truth. They want big government to continue to punish Americans that import things for some reason. The Trumpkins cannot articulate in a credible fashion the reasons so they just downvote and insult.
Amazing.

The jerk off that said millions of acres would be lost forever and steel prices would sky rocket wants to be taken seriously.

Manufacturing jobs have increased since the tariffs began and are still higher than when it started. LINK
Manufacturing Real Output has dipped slightly but is still higher than almost any time prior to or after the Recession and is only slightly lower than it's all-time high (which it hit in Q4 2018... ie DURING the tariffs) LINK.
Try again but maybe this time with something substantial to back up your claims?

Almost every day we read about the horrible impact of this trade war on US agriculture that Trumpkins here refuse to acknowledge
China's Sanctions Against US Farmers May Be Everlasting

Manufacturing employment in the U.S. is at the same level as 69 years ago
Ooops.
And the economy continues to add 10 of thousands of manufacturing jobs each month.
So in dollars yes it is getting smaller, but I bet the 12 million plus people working in manufacturing are damn glad to be working.
Why do you hate the American middle class?
