And DB after his sophomore year. It was my first time hearing this during yesterday’s broadcast. Have I been under a rock? Anybody else heard this before yesterday?

I can promise you this there is no need for him to play WR at LSU because he is too valuable at CB

The way it was said implied that Orgeron promised his parents that he would do so. It may have been a factor in his recruiting and if it was I fully expect Orgeron to keep his word.

I agree. And yet the way he highpoints the ball he would probably be absurd as a wide receiver too

After seeing what happened to his grandpappy I'm sure he feels more comfortable being the hunter rather than the hunted

If he wasn’t comfortable with it, why in the hell would he AND his parents ask for it??

And if Orgeron promised this, then there is an absolute need.

5-Star parents from all over the country have a lot at stake. And they speak to each another often & compare notes... after years of Summer camps, etc.

I never really considered that, but it’s an excellent point

The kid wants to be a star. Charles Woodson and Champ Bailey got reps at WR as well.

promise made for his Jr year to try and win him a heisman a la Woodson.

He won't be full time starter WR. But will play both ways (full time DB and punt returner) enough to hopefully generate the buzz for that PR/Heisman campaign.

Wrong. If it makes the team better, then yes. No coach should ever pander to parents because their son wants to be in the spotlight.

The idea that parents of 5 star kids are discussing what coaches promise is false. I have been in too many homes of 5 star kids to know this for a fact.

If that’s what it took to get him here you do it.

Also he may be our best WR in 2021. Jefferson and Chase will 100% be gone with Marshal likely as well.

Maybe that’s why you aren’t “in the homes” of 5* recruits anymore. And how in the hell would you know what other people discuss? Are you a psychic on top of being a Power 5 recruiting coordinator?

He is an incredible athlete, but i cannot think of anywhere else where he would so minimally affect the marginal value of his abilities than WR. We have a lot of extremely talented WR's.
If you want him on offense, put him at RB or wildcat QB.
