The “diddly poo” game

23 years ago this week, the Saints lost to Carolina. That loss produced one of the most epic, amazing coach’s presser tirades of all time.
Jim Mora resigned the next day but left us with this gem...almost as good as his “playoffs” rant

I actually like Diddly Poo more than Playoffs.
One of the most hilarious and underrated coaching melts of all time.

There's a large Youtube treasure trove of Mora getting into heated discussions with reporters.
I think there was one with Ron Svoboda with multiple F bombs.

Better imo. He's known more for the playoffs rant but diddly poo is a way better rant. "Playoffs" is basically a one-liner.

Mora was gem! Not only did he take the most pathetic franchise in the NFL to unimaginable heights (at that time at least), but he wasn't afraid to say exactly what he was thinking.
I miss the days when coaches had some personality and weren't mindless robots when talking with reporters.

Jim Mora vs. Ron Swoboda (length: 2:47)

Mora's facial twitches remind me of someone that was future channeling a salty version of SNL Burt Reynolds portrayed by Norm MacDonald

Ron Swoboda was in the wrong. Ron called it "a useless game" and that's offensive and provocative almost as though it was intentionally provocative.
Coach Mora was correct and justified in being angry and demanding that he re-phrase the question. Ron should have apologized for using the wrong phrase and gone forward with the interview.
And Ron Swoboda should have known better! He played for the 1969 WS Champion NY Mets! He should know better.

It was a stupid way to ask the question.
I love how at the end of the clip, after all the F-bombs, they’re both gonna wall back over and re-do the question. “Fine I’d be happy to answer the question.”

My BIL and I will send this video to each other every know and then. It's fricking hilarious.

That was Coach Mora being reasonable after being unreasonably provoked by Ron s.
I have no idea why Ron S did that. It made no sense because Ron S was a WS Champion, he HAD to know that phrase would trigger Mora.

Interestingly enough, with a win Sunday, Sean will tie Mora (and Mike McCarthy) for 29th on the all time NFL HC wins list

When an NFL head coach is in the middle of a crisis that could very well lead to his being fired, IMHO, it is extremely provocative and unprofessional to behave like Ron S did in that video. I'm sure that Ron S's behavior here was an aberration.

For a Marine, Mora had very little composure. Also eff him for hanging on to Carl Smith and his Erosion Coast offense.

I guess.
Or was his biggest mistake being in the same division as the Joe Montana/Jerry Rice 49ers? With Bill Walsh as the innovative HC?

Mora was a great coach.
