Auburn is Most Critical Game of the Season

I know the tendency is to look ahead to the monster match up in a few weeks, but this Auburn matchup is arguably a bigger game for LSU.
Over the past 8 years LSU has always seemed to give up games outside of Bama that prevented it from New Years day bowls and national title contention.
This year we need to show that not only are we ready for Bama, but we won't be giving up games to anybody else either.
Auburn is a tough team coming in as another top 10 opponent. If we can continue to win these big games, this will be one of the greatest seasons in college football history.
We ridin boys. Lets GEAUX!

Unless you think AU will beat Bama this year then it is not the biggest game.
Bama is.
You can lose to AU...beat Bama...and still go to Atlanta.
And then the playoff.

I agree. The Auburn game is HUGE. With the schedule that we have after Bama, going into the Bama game undefeated is HUGE. Ole Miss, Arkansas, and A&M aren't going to lay down, but that's a very manageable stretch.

Point being that had we beaten TAMU and FU like we should have, we would have potentially beaten out OU for the fourth spot in the playoff.
Hence the National Title Contention portion of the comment.

I respectfully disagree, the Florida loss and the way we lost to Bama, put the playoffs out of reach. But you point that this is the most critical game, is well taken.

Every game is critical game or playoff type game, not just the AU game. You win you still have a chance to be in the CFP.

This game is extremely important in establishing ourselves as the biggest threat to Bama's Dominance in the SEC not only this year but for the next several. We absolutely must at a minimum go 11-1 to fully cement that outlook and keep momentum with recruiting and public view of the program.

Yes, but if we don't lose to 2 inferior teams (FLA and TAMU), then we're sitting there 11-1 and then who knows...

This game is definitely bigger than Florida was because it's against an SEC West team. We don't control our own destiny any more if we falter this weekend. Auburn will be in the driver's seat over us if they win out.

One thing is for certain. We do NOT have to worry about the Hogs. I never say that a team is nothing to worry about, but Arkansas is just such a team. Morris has lost that team, that's if he ever had them. I'd call them horrible, but I think that that would be giving them too much credit. They haven't won an SEC game since 2016.
