After Miss St scored a TD, Ensminger told Orgeron, “we got this”

LSU then scored a TD in less than a minute. LSU’s two OC’s obviously have plays they feel comfortable calling anytime to score quick. It’s like they’re toying with SEC defenses. Don’t toy with Aub! Blow them out.

O said it in his press conference today. They scored on a really busted play though.

Interesting exchange. Is LSU holding back from scoring too fast, sure appears that way.

I'm not nearly the analyst alot of you guys are but could our tight formations early in the game have been a precaution against the noise they predicted from the Cowbells and what not?
I haven't heard an explanation of why we started out differently than the normal spread.

No, LSU has run tight formations all season.

I thought that too. But also Teams have a lot of tape on our offense now and I think Joe is having to study the defense longer b/c they are trying to out-scheme us
But yes we are seeing many more snaps with 3 seconds on the clock than 18 like we did in first 3 games.

Well you probably wont.
Maybe they decided State was a game they will win so decided to work on things they would like to use.

People keep saying this, but its not at the same rate we did it Saturday. Y’all all saw the game, right? The offense didn’t seem tighter, less spread out, to you? Really?

I really have no explanation for why we used them so much early. We run that tight formation a lot and are successful with it but we ran it almost exclusively those first 4 drives and I felt like it played into States hands more often than not. With the way they were blitzing, having more guys in the box allowed them to disguise blitzes and coverages easier.

I've got the florida game recorded and will record the Moo State game tomorrow. if i'm not mistaken it was a tighter bunch vs Moo state which allowed them to crowd the line more and bring more pressure. looking at the florida game the bunch was a little more spread and florida rushed 4.
maybe the anticipated noise was a factor.

Read my next post, they likely de ided to concentrate on a particular part of the offense they want to improve or maybe E and Brady actually gameplan and that was what they thought would work against the defense State plays.
I mean we didnt punt once the first half, if not for a dropped td and a missed interference call on another td LSU has tds instead of fgs. so I'd say it worked other than execution

I think they are experimenting. It's half a season into 2019 on our shiny new offense. They are probably trying different formations/plays they can incorporate later if successful. More arrows in the quiver and harder to defend.

Ooo it did? Did we not come away with points from all 4 drives????

I think they're just trying to experiment with different things. Trying not to show all their cards. Akin to Les Miles handing the ball off every play against small schools as to not show all the other stuff we "had" at the time.
I'm fine with it. We did the same thing on defense earlier in the year. Try different stuff out...we may need to run that later on and the fact that we've tried it and coached on how to get better may pay off.

No, LSU has run tight formations all season.
People keep saying this
quote:
Bunch formations allow for quick passing attacks, which helps beat the blitz by getting the ball out quickly. Bunch formations also force opposing defenses to tilt coverage to the overloaded side, meaning you're getting more one-on-one on the backside and fewer defenders that direction to defend the run.

O Said it in the Post Game. Said as soon as they scored they told him over the head set "We are going to respond"

Hope LSU responds to Aub excessively, LSU needs to put a lot of pressure on Aub’s offense and freshman, he can’t handle throwing the ball a lot. Fla showed us that.

Were we "toying with them" when we settled for FGs on our first 3 drives?
