Chiefs fans - Talk to me about the experience

I'm meeting my brother and a few buddies in KC next weekend for the Packers / Chiefs game and I want to get a sense for the experience, as well as any other shite we need to definitely do.
We're staying in Columbus Park, so relatively close to downtown.
We're by Strange Days Brewing, so we'll probably walk by there. I was reading that Slap's is supposed to be pretty good BBQ and isn't too terribly far so we'll probably hit that. Hitting Leinie's in the Power and Light district Saturday morning because it's a Badger bar and will be jumping for the OSU game with all the Packer fans in town.
Beyond that we're kinda open. Hate shitty chain restaurants and places that are in malls or designed to look like they have character. Love original/local/dive places. Love bourbon and good beer, BBQ, burgers, and people watching.
It seems like most of the other good BBQ places mentioned are south or southwest of the city by a bit. Willing to travel a ways but don't want to be in a car all weekend.
Heard gameday experience is fun. How are the fans if we're not a bunch of assholes asking for trouble? In Green Bay the people tailgating will joke with you and then likely call you over and force feed you shots and brats.
tl;dr - How's the Chiefs game experience and where should we go in KC?

And yes, I did post this on the travel board with no responses. So I figured all the Cards fans on here now have some time to help a brother out.

I have nothing to add except that I am jealous. Arrowhead looks badass and I’ve always wanted to go to a game there.

You won’t need to bring a BP vest to this one!

First, go to the game really early so you can get the full tailgating experience. Nobody will be mean to you unless you have a raiders or donkeys jersey on and people will probably share their beer with you.
Good breweries include: Boulevard, casual animal, brewery emperial, and stockyards.
There are tons of good barbecue palces so just google them cause I'm too lazy to list them. Slaps is very good though.
Longest drive you should have to get anywhere good is to the stadium tbh.

Gates, there is better in town but Gates is what is served at stadium and very good.
P&L
Be ready for any type of weather
The parking lot of Arrowhead is shared with Kauffman, so plenty of place and space. The Workout facility is also there.
Stay away from the Paseo (US 71)

Ten miles from Arrowhead to Joe’s BBQ.

the atmosphere should be subdued. the soyboys in Missouri have decided that the tomahawk chop offends them so don't expect it from the Chiefs crowd.

Power and Light District is a good place to wander, lots of bars and restaurants.
Check out Restless Spirits for local KC whiskey.
Kelly's Westport Inn is a cool bar, in what claims to be the oldest building in Kansas City.
I'm right there with you on that. For BBQ I suggest LC's, Joe's, or Arthur Bryant's.

LC's Bbq, Q39, Kansas City Joe's

BBQ:
-Get a Z-man at the original Joe's. It's the classic thing to do for a reason. You won't be disappointed.
-Q39 is up there with the best of them.
-Jack Stack, LC's, Woodyard, etc. are all great. Really can't go wrong.
Beer:
-Boulevard is the obvious choice. Have a great tour there as well if you have extra time.
Gameday:
-As others have said, buy your parking pass online before you get there. It's a lot cheaper than getting one at the stadium (but still expensive).
-Get there as early as you can. People will be lined up for hours before the lots even open. You'll never smell anything better in your life.
-Shouldn't have a problem with the fans, outside of a few mean drunks. People from KC are generally very nice.
Bars:
-Power & Light is fine for events but it sucks if you're just going out. Crazy expensive. Westport is much more of a college-like set-up with bars and should be the go to if you're wanting to hit different spots.
-Put down another vote for the Green Lady (and Black Dolphin, it's neighbor with the same owners). Easily my favorite bars in KC. Just your classic arse jazz bar that you can't go wrong with.

Go over to the City Market and ride the street car down Main St, there’s several breweries within walking distance of the streetcar stops. The streetcar is free on weekends. Taps on Main is a good place too, it has a large selection of craft beer and it’s a serve yourself place for the beer.
Have fun son!

BBQ - KC Joes and Q39. I have tried many bbq restaurants in my 3 years here and I go back to these two the most.
Burgers - Burg and Barrel. Both locations are on the Kansas side, one only 15 minutes from Downtown.
Beers: Boulevard Wheat and Tank 7.
Places: College Basketball Hall of Fame
Download the KCityPost App. It will tell you where the streetcars currently are. They are free to ride and make getting around downtown easier.

Been to more than a few Chiefs games. They sucked at the time but it was very college like in the pure love those fans have for their team. You'll have a blast too bad QB is out.
