Florida continued to pick up 3rd and long after 3rd and long in the 2nd half after they had 28 points and Aranda made “adjustments”. The last drive for Florida before LSU made the goal line stand was really pathetic.

You mean the one where LSU was up by two scores and running a sideline defense to keep them from going over the top while also keeping them in bounds so the clock kept ticking?

The one that made UF drive the entire length of the field while burning something like 5 minutes off the clock when there was less than 6 minutes in the game? Yeah, what a terrible job they did.

Settle down and wait, folks.

I'm not panicking or overreacting, but wait for what? The regular season is half over. Injuries are obviously an issue, but we aren't in any worse shape than most teams. Our best DL right now are Shelvin and Farrell who have been healthy. Lawrence and Logan have done very little when healthy and Chaisson has been hit or miss. I actually think Clark has been better than Divinity as well.

Florida ran a double screen on 3rd and long and it looked like LSU defense was on the moon.

You really can't scheme around a mediocre pass rush with with tons of inexperience/depth at the CB position and Delpit forgetting how to tackle in space (Yes I know Fulton and Vincent are upperclassmen, the guys behind them, including Stingley, are not).

There is no pleasing you!

For years people complained about the offense, so O fixes the offense and we are the number one offense IN THE COUNTRY! Now you're complaining about 3rd down defense???

Ride this wave! We are 6-0 with 2 top 10 wins! Relax and enjoy some fun football!

This is the same drive that stalled without a score while LSU was up two scores, correct? Also the same drive that ended in a pick before an iffy roughing the passer call, right? Florida ran 9 plays from inside LSU's 15 and came away with nothing.

You people complaining about the defense NOT giving up a touchdown on a drive for Florida that effectively ended the game is embarrassing.

I have a sneaking suspicion there is more to this than meets the eye.

Has it ever dawned on any of you that this team has almost always gotten a stop when it needed to then all of a suddden they give up plays they just stopped easily?

Well then Orgeron must be embarrassing to you too. He admits we need to do better on defense. I can’t see what’s wrong with fans doing it too. It wasn’t part of the plan that we give up so much yardage.

Continue holding teams to 24-28 points and LSU goes undefeated. Yardage.

Based on Orgeron‘s comments after the game I really don’t believe they intentionally gave up yards so they could leave it all up to our red zone defense.

I know we played better on defense in the second half. But to me those long third down conversions that FLORIDA made in the second half were the most frustrating thing of the night.

Linebackers have been the weakness on defense. They look lost. Also there's a pretty big drop off at corner when Fulton out and safety play has been spotty.

Is it too soon to make this a thing? Things looked eerily Chavis-like against UF and other teams this year with long conversions. Hope we can fix it.
You need to take this shite, shove it up your fricking arse, and get the hell out.

Yes. Look no further than linebackers for our weakness this year. They just get washed out too easily. It’s all mental because they Queen and Divinity are extremely talented dudes.

We could definitely stand to blitz more, but they’ve GOT to disguise it better. We’re one of the worst I’ve seen at disguising pressure.

He's sort of the anti-Chavis this year. First half, typically soft (until the red zone) and gives up long drives.

After halftime, tightens up and makes big stops when we absolutely have to have them to close out the game. Chavis would do the opposite of that - smother the other team for 3 quarters, the offense would sputter and then they would beat us late in close games.

People who are saying 3rd and Aranda have long-term memory loss and don’t remember what the defense was really like under Chavis

You're the one with long term memory loss. Chavis was an outstanding defensive coordinator. He was much respected and much sought after by some of the biggest name coaches in the business. He didn't recruit, and that's a serious knock against him, but think of that for a moment. In spite of his stated unwillingness to recruit, coaches still wanted to hire him at big-time programs. Chavis was a great coach.

I have said, and will continue to say, that losing White hurt more than anyone of us could have known. Divinity is a good player, but he wasn't a MLB until this year and he just doesn't have the mental side of it down like White did.
