Then you should change your phones settings then.

Hell, don’t all smartphones now have a Do not Disturb setting that will mute any notification?

Yep DND and answer at your convenience. My phone ringtones and vibration stay off basically 24/7. Dinner time my phone is on a wireless charger in the living room.

I've been slowly implementing more and more routines that don't include a phone so I can break the addiction.

Anyway, I digress.. texts can be sent whenever as long as everyone has their phones on silent

Yeah, but I'm not sure many people want to turn of all notifications in case of a true emergency happening, like a family emergency or something, and someone needing to contact you in the middle of the night.

I usually keep my phone volume down/muted during bed time, which goes against what I just said...

My Do Not Disturb stays on until 11am.
