He went from a poor man’s Emmitt Smith to a middle-income man’s Emmitt Smith last night.

As everyone else is saying, he is very quick around the line of scrimmage. I dont think he is really good at outrunning dbs on a breakaway or running over linebackers and safeties, but he is very strong at the one area i would say fournette is weak.

He's not a slow running back. He's not as fast as some we've had, but he's just as fast as players like Alfred blue, Terrance maghee, and darell Williams

Don't know if he's that fast, but I do know that it seems to me when he gets gang tackled he moves the pile forward. I recall one play in the Florida game.......he got tackled about five yards from a first down. So there's the pile and you got LSU bodies and Florida bodies on top of Clyde.....and damned if that pile isn't moving forward. I'm thinking Clyde is at the bottom of that pile and he must be pumping those legs to move that pile forward. Sure, maybe the LSU players were helping to push the pile but hey - I get by with a little help from my friends. I've seen that happen before when Clyde is tackled.
Clyde reminds me of Albert "Stump" Mitchell....played collegiate football for The Citadel and professionally for the St. Louis Cardinals. He's now Cleveland Browns running backs coach.
Yep, Clyde is one tuff cookie.

He’s got great lateral quickness but I would t say he’s a burner. Doesn’t have break away speed. But he’s ballin

His sidesteps, lateral moves, jumps , skips, to the side or whatever you want to call it...
Are effing special.

Stump Mitchell was a baller. Pretty good comparison.

So he's fast, but not really fast?
Deceptively fast might be a good word to use...

4.47 40 is pretty fast.
Fournette runs a 4.51. Is there anybody on this planet that thinks Clyde really runs a 4.47? We've gotten spoiled with the likes of Jeremy Hill, Fournette, Guice, etc. It doesn't make CEH a bad guy or a bad back, but he is not in that category.

He’s quick not fast. He can accelerate from zero to his max speed very quickly. However he doesn’t have elite top speed. Just above average. Very similar to Sproles.
