I'm 100% with you here, but we're long beyond the 100 day campaign rhetoric... and now look at the situation. He can hold this L after his "plan" failed.

We should have learned that lesson with Obama's withdrawal in Iraq
As directed by the bush administration... or are we pretending that sofa wasn't signed on the way out?

I think most people that are criticizing the move are criticizing the fact that this appears to be a rash decision with little to no strategic planning on how to exit without completely fricking over our long term allies.
How was it rash when he was saying he will get us out of Syria even before he became president? He stated last year we are getting out soon, he withdrew troops this year and stated again soon we are getting out. Now, we are getting out. Guess what, we are still going to be arming and funding the Kurds

Bush and Obama both fricked up Iraq

Sure, but also Obama ran on getting out of Iraq. The SOFA could have potentially been re-negotiated, but perhaps not given a lot of Iraquis wanted us out as well.
I didn't intend for that to be pinning it entirely on Obama. But more making the point that this country and its leaders never seem to learn from past mistakes. A lot of those mistakes are easier to point out in hindsight, but we still seem to make them over and over and over again.

This was a huge mistake from the administration.
Promises kept. We should also pull all troops out of Afghanistan, South Korea, and Germany.

Did he have a plan in place? Based on comments from some military personnel, he did not. There's also the report he went off script in his conversation with Edrogan on Sunday. I know a lot of people like to ignore anonymous sources, but more times than not they are proven right. At least 2 reporters on the ground in Syria have quoted military personnel there as being shocked at this decision.

I'm pretty sure they tried repeatedly and failed, typical for that admin

Absolutely, and repeatedly in this region

Pulling troops out of anywhere is not a mistake no matter the president.

Just remember while the smart guys in the room have been in charge, the US got involved in Vietnam, Iran became an Islamists state, we armed the mujahideen which eventually turned into the Taliban/Al Qaeda, 9/11, Invasion of Iraq (twice), North Korea nuclearized, Russia took Crimea and half the middle East imploded in anarchy.
So I'm a little pessimistic that the so called experts and even Trump know Jack and shite.
But hey, we kicked Grenada's arse.

What kind of plan is needed to remove anywhere from 50 to possibly 1,000 troops? I’m not saying there doesn’t need to be one, but what kind of plan do you think is needed? I’m sure there was one, according to the WH there is, unless you just wanna say they lied. Are we talking logistical plans of moving soldiers or a plan for the Kurds? As far as the Kurds, we’ve given them years of warning, he’s stated it 100 times publicly, he publicly told Erdogan he is against Kurdish invasion, we are still and have been arming and funding the Kurds.

Listen idiot, why don’t you look that up before you open your big, stupid, ignorant, no nothing mouth.
Kurds chop off clits from Kurdish news site
Idiot
you should have read the article "idiot" - 11% of people interviewed had this occur - obviously not widespread

I'll address quickly because about to step out for a meeting.
I'm far from a military expert, but a general wind down plan. Setting a sunset on troop presence, working with all related personnel on formulating a plan for the withdrawal, working with other nations if needed, working with the Kurds to prepare them for that date, etc. It's fine to say we need to get troops out of there, and I agree with we do. By all appearances though, this was a hastily made decision by Trump with little to no coordination or planning. It's not surprising though. It's his MO, and why I think he's a bad leader. He makes rash decisions and walks away and leaves it to everyone else to clean up his mess.

Trump moves at the speed of business
Government and the military move as quickly as the slowest guy in the room
Removing 50-1000 people is not a logistical challenge for the US Military
He made a decision that the military and diplomats have been trying to talk him out of since six months before he launched Mathis. He knows they would try to extend this another 6-8 months for no actual reason
We must stop involvement in foreign entanglements. The establishment hates that idea for some ungodly reason. Probably because they think government is the answer to all issues
The Kurds, Turks, Syrians and Iran need to work this crap out. If the europeans are unwilling to touch this with a ten foot pole; why the hell should we?

Do you have any idea what would happen if we left Germany/Europe?
Do you know we are focused Southwest nearly as much as we’re focused eastward?

Turkey and Russia are playing Trump like a fiddle
Turkey uses their NATO status to their advantage. Russia gives them sweetheart deals to entice them out of the alliance. While the US kowtows to them in an effort to keep Turkey
Not really. He's making out like a bandit. Everything boils down to a stupid Trump hotel in Moscow and Istanbul.
"Sad."
Nobody seems to care.
