Lately with my work, I have frequently found myself in that area for lunch and dinner. There is so much there, and I don't want to waste a meal on something mediocre. What are your recommendations?

Close to Audubon: Avo, Saba and Bistro Daisy (only open for dinner)
Near Napoleon: La Petite Grocery, Shaya, Saffron, Casamentos
Near Louisiana Ave: Lilette, Cavan, Mahoneys, Vintage Coquette
Once you start getting into the CBD, there are a bunch of places all in a few blocks of one another

If you want to venture slightly off Magazine I'd check out Costera

Can’t believe no one has mentioned Gris Gris. That’s my favorite place on Magaxine at the moment.

On Magazine Street - 1. La Petit Grocery 2. Coquette........ The best lunch in town (other than Galatoire's) is not on Magazine St, but is just a stone's throw away - Commander's Palace. I ate there Monday. Fantastic.
