Two meteor showers will peak on consecutive nights this week, including one known for bringing incredibly bright meteors known as fireballs.

The back-to-back meteor showers will give stargazers of all ages several chances to spot some shooting stars right from their backyard.

Thanks for the heads up! I just hope it's not cloudy where I live, like it is every single time there's a shower.

I got up early to hunt saturday morning and saw one, super bright, looked like I could reach up and grab it

Eta: was that one part of this deal and just got here early? Guessing these happen regularly even when there isn't a "shower"?

Had saw these when I was a very young man going duck hunting. Just unreal fire from the sky with no city lights.

I chilled in the hammock for about an hour listening to some Tool. I saw about dozen planes, a couple of satellites, and some lightning bugs...but no meteors.

Still...

It was still a nice peaceful hour.

Thanks for the heads up.

Plan to head out here in a few since in in the good viewing conditions tonight here in Bama. Last night was covered in clouds so I walked out and drank a beer and went back inside to help my daughter with reading homework.

Plan to take both the little ones out tonight slsince the sky is much more clear. Although, the moon is pretty bright so fingers crossed we get to see a couple. They've never witnessed one and my 7 yr old daughter is very intrigued with space and astronauts. thanks for the heads up earlier this week.
