Trump Coming to Lake Charles Friday Night

This good and bad news. It is good new because it will hopefully motivate the baws and bawettes to go out and vote saturday. It is bad news because it is the night before a big LSU game and because it bad that we have to bring out the big guns just to get to a runoff.

ETA: It's just a little too close to wire for me to be comfortable. Wish he would have come last weekend when it was an LSU bye week and early voting was open.

LSU plays what... 48 games... maybe 52 games in 4 years. You vote for governor once. Don’t bitch about other people not doing their jobs if you’re not willing to do yours.

No. There is only one day. Early voting ended yesterday.

Meant in an election cycle, yes only one day left now. Still no excuses.

Lake Charles is surprising. I wonder what data the LA GOP has that says they need to shore up support in that area.

I was expecting Laffy or Shreveport.

WeeWee, early voting went really well for republicans and the share of black vote is nowhere near where it needs to be for democrats for JBE to win outright and this electorate is whiter.

The partisan breakdown from early voting is is...

43.20 D
42.39 R
14.40 Other

That's a 13% swing towards republicans from 2015.

Now, the question is did the GOP cannibalize their election day vote or is it a red wave that's completely missed by the polls?

I agree with you that Laffy or Shreveport seem like the obvious choices. I doubt the LA GOP has much say over location selection. Team Trump probably runs this show and just tells the locals what is going to happen.

You don't hold events like this in swing areas, you go right into the middle of your base and churn the waters up. Better to motivate voters in an area where you get 8/10 of every vote instead of an area closer to 50/50. Trump isn't coming to changes minds, he is coming to get people to turn out.

Sucks to be JBE. His team was soooo confident Trump wouldn't come before the primary. The day before the election is their nightmare scenario.

isn't Lake Charles building plants and has a lot of new manufacturing jobs?
