Just flew over Watson headed towards BR. I know shes at the Hammond air show this weekend. Be cool if she did a flyover for the LSU game.

Beautiful machine and a piece of American history. God bless that plane.

There’s a 50% chance I’ve flown on that exact one. Pilot was as old as the plane.

They should rename it WiFi, that way the post-Millenials will want to get on it.

Beautiful aircraft. I wasn’t fortunate to fly in it, but I got to go inside and look around about 10 years ago.

couple of guys from work fly that, they asked if I was interested, I might do it down the road, takes a lot of your off time but a pretty cool hobby

Cool thought.

Amazing how much more advanced that is from the DC-3/C-47, in less than 10 years.

cockpit is kind of funky, it's definitely a war machine, it looks like they took a couple of school desks and bolted just enough instruments on it to keep the blue side up, pretty bare bones, my uncle flew those, he died just as I was getting into flying so I never had the chance to talk with him about the technical operation of it

Just saw her headed back east towards Hammond. No mistaking those 4 big radial engines.

they sound awesome, was ferrying a 777 from AFW to DFW a few years ago and they were having trouble fitting us in due to a big complex in progress, Fifi was at AFW, apparently doing some proficiency flying, maybe checking out a new guy, they did about 10 touch and gos while we were holding short of the runway, I videoed a few of them that came out pretty good, was pretty cool

ETA: nice pic, I didn't know they were down there this weekend, one of the baws from work that flies that is an LSU grad, I wonder if he's lobbied for a flyover? guess it depends on the show schedule but it would be easy to do

Where was this in town. I could hear a low deep rumble but couldn't find it in the sky.

And you're right about those engines, you don't mistake it for a civilian plane. Back around 2007 or so a group brought a B24, B17, and B25 to BR. They flew all over town for three or four days. I can't imagine hearing 500 of those flying overhead.

Imagine the poor German bastards who had to watch hundreds of those flying over bombing them in 1944-45

My uncle flew for major airline and some of his co-workers flew the CAF planes out of McKinny. He got checked out in the B25 and I think all of them have to check in the T6. Mainly for care and feeding of radial engines and tail dragger experience I suspect.

I completely understand. TD is my only hobby as well. Takes so much of my off time.
