Will the 13,866 day drought of no Tiger KO TD's in TS end this weekend?

Still amazed with all the great kick off return guys we have had that the last KO return by LSU in TS was Eric Martin in 1981! Maybe this weekend is our best chance to end it this year.

I know new fair catch kick off rule hurts, but still, it's way past due for us to take one back.

BTW does anyone have a clip of the UK game in 1981?

If we want a KO return for a TD then we need to put play-makers back there.

I would like to nominate derek stingley jr, jontre kirklin, Kary Vincent Jr and John Emery

Utah State has only had a touchback on 50% of their kickoffs this year so we'll definitely have a chance. 15/30 have gone for touchbacks.

However, they've allowed zero returns over 30 yards so far, so they're not bad at kickoff coverage.

ETA:

LSU is 3rd nationally with a 92.7% touchback %.

F that

KO's are more difficult to return for TD's these days. No reason to risk injury on Special teams when our offense has no trouble scoring.

I agree with that, im just saying that if the goal is to return a KO for a TD (which its not) then we would need to have more electric, homerun hitters returning kicks.

O would rather a sure handed, fair catch and start on the 25. Cant blame him, its not like we have any trouble scoring!

IMO, it’ll happen when they let Trey Palmer start returning kicks.

I forgot to list him, youre right he is a special talent and would probably love the opportunity to continue to make a name for himself on KO.

I put him there instead of Stingley

Condon’s life dream is to see another one before he croaks from a drug and alcohol related death.

I’m guessing the Trindon Holiday TD years back was an away game? I really thought that was at home. Arkansas game maybe????

None of the kickoffs for TDs were at home.

There’s been plenty of punt returns for a TD in Tiger Stadium.

2006 in Little Rock. One of the best LSU games since 2000 and maybe the greatest LSU/Arkansas game ever.

They changed the rules. Almost no kicks are returned.

Doubt it. Especially with only 1 or 2 KOs to return.

I expect that USU will not score much so few opportunities. If we play a lot of inexperienced players and they score more than chances go up

Trindon also had one at Ole Miss, I think.
