The Ballad of Joe Burrow- original Parody of Skynyrd’s “the Ballad of Curtis Loew”

Just a little parody I wrote.
Sung to the Tune of “The Ballad of Curtis Loew” by Lynyrd Skynyrd- instrumental version
Link to original Song
The Ballad of Joe Burrow
Vs 1:
Well he came without much warning,
Transfer from Ohio,
Just a backup quarterback,
With A name most didn’t know,
Comin’ down to the Tigers,
Down to the team of O,
Steppin’ in, to prove his mettle,
and his name was Joe Burrow,
Young Joe was a buckeye,
With ice in his veins,
But he earned his Tiger stripes,
The day he took the reins,
He said “I’m here to win, and,
I’m here to lead the team.”
And nobody said a word,
As the Tigers dared to dream,
Chorus:
It’s third and long, Trust In Joe, Trust In Joe,
if they can’t stop the spread,
Then let the Iceman throw,
Just Keep the touchdowns comin’,
And silence all the fools,
‘Cause Iceman Joe and the fightin’ Tigers, gon’ win for LSU,
Vs 2:
Well when they put up 50,
We knew that Joe could win,
Tigers whupped the Longhorns,
As they cussed and cried again,
They shot his shirt, threw their drinks,
As Joe just waved and smiled,
Who’da thought Coach O would give us,
What we never got with Miles,
Chorus:
It’s third and long, Trust In Joe, Trust In Joe,
if they can’t stop the spread,
Then let the Iceman throw,
Keep the touchdowns comin’,
And silence all the fools,
‘Cause Iceman Joe and the fightin’ Tigers, gon’ win for LSU,
Vs 1:
Now it’s time to ride or die,
As Burrow leads the way,
Tigers get more touchdown drives,
With every Saturday,
Never in my lifetime,
Have I seen LSU,
With the offense open wide,
Joe’s making dreams come true.
Chorus:
It’s third and long, Trust In Joe, Trust In Joe,
if they can’t stop the spread,
Then let the Iceman throw,
Just Keep the touchdowns comin’,
And silence all the fools,
‘Cause Iceman Joe and the fightin’ Tigers, gon’ win for LSU,

Yes, I am a grown arse man. I’ve got a house and a job and kids and I am a Tiger fan through and through. I bleed purple and gold.
What we are experiencing this season is incredible. The offense we’ve been dreaming of. Pieces coming together. A goddamn Heisman caliber QB breaking records, and doing it cool as a cucumber. A group of talented young men striving, giving it all on the gridiron for our entertainment. Bringing respect back to LSU. We are firmly in the playoff discussion. And you have an issue with that?
It’s a fun reworking of a classic southern rock hit. Not a goddamn love song.
If you can’t admire the magic in this season and the hard work and talent of those young men on the field, especially Joe Burrow, maybe you should cheer for another team.

Holy shite dude that is awesome
It’s going to be a sad day when Burrow takes off that glorious LSU helmet for the last time

Thanks. It would be better if I could play guitar well enough or knew someone to collaborate with to make an actual vocal recording, so the reader wasn’t doing all the work of figuring out how it goes, but alas, I don’t.
But I figured the tune was well known enough that most people could sing along in their heads with the tune.

I mean, i’m Game to record it if someone has the necessary stuff. I think it would be pretty awesome having it play in the background with a bunch of Burrow footage playing in the video. Especially the parts where it references specific events, like the crying kid and Matthew McConaghy cussing
