tldr- my mother is in AL/hospice, stage 99 of dementia. Dad (74) is now dating and has found a "friend" who is 70. Getting serious enough for him to tell me about her, and going to meet her son's family out of state.

She's "divorced" from an "abusive relationship" from a man with great family wealth, and she has "plenty of money". She is a retired teacher.

Either he hit the jackpot, or she's about to frick me out of my inheritance. My dad has pretty decent money. His RMD's far exceed his living expenses and he has to reinvest them.

Should I hire a PI on this bitch?

Possibly both. Why do you care? It’s your dads money anyway

Suggest a prenup to your father explaining it will be a lot less complicated down the line.

Hire the PI. Maybe she’s great. It helps you either way.

If she’s screwing over your dad, why not help him out during this difficult time? He looked out for you, now it’s your turn. True, it’s not your money, but if she has bad intentions, it shouldn’t be her money either.

Prenup... she can siphon away everything by just having access to the old man.

My great grandpaw lost everything after remarrying in his late 70s. My family had to buy the house from the bitch just to keep it in the family.

Hire the PI

Why do you feel entitled to the fruits of your fathers labor?

My prediction is the lady will get your dad to give her power of attorney and then she will take every dime that she can.

Yeah that’s pretty shitty to get a side piece while he’s still married no matter what the circumstances are. The bottom line is he’s having an affair.
