On some Draft boards Utah's QB is a 1st round draft choice

That’s great but if he’s throwing to 5’ 2” receivers who run a 40 in 5.3 and has an Oline that couldn’t block a slight breeze, I don’t care if Drew Brees or Tom Brady is the QB, it’s not going to end well for them.

Their defense, especially their pass defense, sucks. Last I saw it was ranked 103rd in the country. QB and running back are good. Though he does seem to throw a lot of INTs. They may move the ball and score a few points but this game, no matter how bad some want it to be, will not be competitive.

I watched their last two games, and he (Jordan Love) has the measurables that scouts love, but putting the pieces together, he and that offense looked like any other mid-major. Pretty ho-hum. Not a lot of size or speed. Good enough to throw the ball up and run into a score or two though.

LSU should not have any trouble with this team, especially if they look like they did in each of their last two games.

And the truth is as far as the team goes, hopefully they take every team on the schedule seriously.

I watched their wntire game from last weekend against CSU.

The running back #1 is pretty good but they don’t sub him out at all.
The best part is the sets they run offensively and run plays are almost identical what we run so there should be zero confusion for our D.

Love is decent, he runs a little bit of the RPO but doesn’t look to run much. He actually stays in the pocket and does make very dumb throws. He threw 2 picks both across field 10 yd outs that any DB can read.

The receivers are decent.

Actually, the RB you watched (Bright) that "doesn't sub out at all" started the year as RB1 but became RB2. Our RB1 (Warren) went down early against CSU with injury and I'm pretty sure won't be playing the LSU game.

Not that it matters a ton, just wanted to clarify that.

Utah State is better than Vandy and can really throw the ball.

While I agree with you overall that the average LSU fan is definitely overlooking this team, putting it into the almost Western Carolina or North Texas category, but, I ask a couple of questions:

1. Is their defense, overall, as good as Vandy's (I know Vandy's pass defense is terrible, but still some SEC caliber players in spots)?

2. Can they score 60 (because they're going to have to, IMHO)? In Tiger Stadium?

Hey guys, USU fan here. 99% of us USU fans are realistic about what this game is. Our #1 goal is to win a MWC championship and we're just hoping our team comes away from this game without getting too banged up. We've already lost our top DL & OL for the year and don't have a ton of depth. I don't expect our leading rusher to play this game, either. I'm not sure how optimistic I am that USU covers that 25 point spread.

Jordan Love has had a very mediocre year so far after looking so great most of last season. We're hoping this game helps show what he really can do. There's been a lot of hype about him being a 1st round draft pick. He can really throw the ball and I hope that gets put on display this Saturday.

I see a lot of talk about Love's TD to INTO ratio of 6 to 5. 3 of his 5 INT's this year were on stupid out routes to the far side of the field that DB was waiting for. USU's offense has been pretty vanilla so far this season. The red zone play calling has been abysmal. It'll be interesting to see if more tricks are pulled out this game by the USU coaches.

So far this team has taken each game seriously, I don’t think that will be a problem. Defense knows they need work and I just can’t imagine them not looking at any game as an opportunity to improve. This week they face a good passing offense so time to show what they can do.
With the offense you have Joe Burrow leading them, there is no way he would allow anything other than full effort out on the field.

I watched their game against Colorado State, we will destroy them. Destroy. QB is good, but with no line, go press coverage, he will have no time. QB sneak is their biggest weapon. I’m normally cautious, but we should easily cover, which are words I usually don’t say....

SE did it for TX and Love is capable of doing the same thing.
Quit acting like our secondary hasn't played like shite at times since the season began.

Who within the program said they should not taken seriously?

I believe they'll be extended all the usual courtesies of a visiting opponent.

They probably score some points, but Tigers will score more, a lot more.

Did Devin Duvernay and Colin Johnson transfer to Utah State and get immediately eligible?

Add to it that they finished last season at #21 in final poll and only losses were to two top 25 teams. They finished 11-2. They are supposedly weaker this season but not that much.

Good grief. I hope you were wearing a diaper when you typed this.

First off, Love is nowhere close to Ehrlinger in talent. Second, ain't no Texas receivers showing up on Saturday.

LSU is coming off a bye week.

I'm not saying it will be a shutout, but it won't be close either.

I cant put into words how utterly pissed off and disappointed i am that this is an 11 AM game

I agree with your post - not so much that we may lose, but that we may not play well (especially with the early start) and only win by 10 or so points. Anything less than a convincing win (i.e. 30 points or more) is not keeping up with the other contenders (Bama, Ohio State, UGA).

It's utterly ridiculous that this game starts at 11am. I believe this is a direct result of Bama's bitching a couple of weeks ago. Does ESPN really believe that Vandy-Ole Miss will get better ratings? Of course not. Chalk one up for Satan.

For that matter, USU and their fans who make the trip are getting cheated out of the true TS experience. Plus, it will be like a 10 am start for them.
