The whistle-blower who revealed that President Trump sought foreign help for his re-election and who alleged that the White House sought to cover it up is a C.I.A. officer who was detailed to work at the White House at one point, according to three people familiar with his identity.
The man has since returned to the C.I.A., the people said. Little else is known about him. His complaint made public Thursday suggested he was an analyst by training and made it clear he was steeped in details of American foreign policy toward Europe, demonstrating a sophisticated understanding of Ukrainian politics and at least some knowledge of the law

Any bets he worked closely with Brennan?

Undoubtedly a good friend of Brennan and Clapper, explains why the leaking is so rampant.

Question I have is how common is it for all these people to have access to transcripts of a president's calls?

The News media is aggregating this from NYSlimes quickly
quote:
The Times reported that the whistleblower, whose name is still unknown, is a "CIA officer who was detailed to work at the White House at one point" and since gone back to his post at the Agency. They said that based on the complaint, he is likely extremely knowledgeable about eastern European and Ukrainian politics.
Almost immediately, The Times came under scrutiny for revealing more details about the whistleblower's identity. The whistleblower's attorney Andrew Bakaj told The Times, "any decision to report any perceived identifying information of the whistle-blower is deeply concerning and reckless, as it can place the individual in harm's way."
In a statement, New York Times executive editor Dean Baquet that the whistleblower's "role and place in the government is crucial to understanding one of the most important issues facing the country — whether the president of the United States abused power and whether the White House covered it up."

My hypothesis is that he his knee deep in the previous unlawful activity, be it the failed coup, or otherwise, and when the prosecution comes down he’s going to attempt to use this as evidence of political retaliation (even though it’s evidently apparent that he’s politically biased in his complaint to begin with).
The twisted ways of these anti-American traitors...

How rich is it to have someone in the CIA blow the whistle on ANYTHING, EVER?
Where have these patriots been the past 60 years?
