He’s had some humongous games as a punter. Is he in the conversation?

No question. One of the best punters we had the privilege to watch.

He is arguably the greatest saint of all time. Definitely a HOFer.

People might say Brees but don't forget what your punter does to pin teams deep. Not to mention he is also the holder.

His points prevented stat is probably equivalant in importance to Bree's QBR or compl. perctnage.

Don't forget who kicked the onsider too!

Geaux #6 .. MY greatest Saint

Definitely. He's second best all time behind only the true GOAT in the main statistic kept for punters but as we know he does a whole lot more than just kick the hell out of it.

Definitely. He averages 47 yds/punt and has 208 punts inside the 20, probably a lot of those inside the 10 or 5.

Are there currently ANY punters enshrined in the HoF?

I don’t think punters get in much. Ray Guy just got in recently (played in the 70s) and he was considered the best by most.

If punters belong in the HoF there's no reason Morstead shouldn't be in there

Ray Guy is the only one and he’s considered the best ever. He was also a 7x Pro Bowler, 6x First team All-Pro, 2x 2nd team All-Pro, 1st team 1970s All-Decade team, and 75th Anniversary All-Time team. And despite all this it still took him forever to get in.

Morstead has zero chance based off of this.

Great player and a great person in the community there. Just a lot of great applause for #6!

The argument could also be made that Ray Guy getting in makes it easier for a second to get in. For a long time the argument was that a strictly special teams player should not under any circumstances be allowed on. Guy broke that barrier.
