Pelosi hints at impeachment over Trump-Ukraine whistleblower complaint

In a letter to lawmakers Sunday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) issued a warning about the Trump administration's continued efforts to block acting Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire from turning over a whistleblower complaint that reportedly involves the president.
"If the Administration persists in blocking this whistleblower from disclosing to Congress a serious possible breach of constitutional duties by the President, they will be entering a grave new chapter of lawlessness which will take us into a whole new stage of investigation."
Between the lines: It's likely that the "new stage of investigation" that Pelosi is referring to is impeachment. House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) — who along with Pelosi has refrained from endorsing impeachment until there's enough public support — said Sunday that the whistleblower controversy could leave Democrats with no other choice.
Context: Trump confirmed on Sunday that he spoke to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in July about possibly investigating Joe Biden and his son, Hunter. It's not clear if this conversation is at the heart of the whistleblower complaint, but the Washington Post and others have reported that the complaint does involve Ukraine.
--The Trump administration has been blocking Maguire from providing the full complaint to Congress, arguing that it's not a matter of "urgent concern" and that it falls outside the scope of the intelligence community.
--Maguire will appear before the House Intelligence Committee on Thursday, where Pelosi said she expects him to turn over the full complaint.
--Pelosi is also calling on Republicans to "join us in insisting that the Acting DNI obey the law as we seek the truth to protect the American people and our Constitution."

Does the Dem Congress just want to change their branch from legislators to investigators?
I can't remember the last decent idea or policy they passed through Congress

Good. She will regret it if she travels this path.

Please explain to me how merely ASKING Ukraine to investigate to see if anything nefarious took place is worthy of impeachment.
Isn’t it the president’s job to fight corruption in allied nations?

Someone called it in my thread about the whistleblower (who didn’t hear the actual phone call btw) when they said that this would be the genesis of a new round of “investigations” against Trump.
It’s actually sad that our country has fallen so far as to elect people like Pelosi and the rest of the “investigate! Investigate! Investigate!” Congress.

it is worthy of impeachment because democrats are above the law. no one dares to expose them. they want to save the earth and the world from climate change and rid it of deplorables by taxing and regulating them to death. they know best, you see.
this is getting way out of hand and Barr and Durham had best be cleaning it up.

Pelosi means business this time because she asked the R's to join her. This is DC code for, he is going down we control all.

The call for impeachment is for winning the election.

What I find the most mystifying about this whole Hunter Biden situation, is that these same Democrats went absolutely apeshit when trump fired Comey. Muh obstruction day and night. And Trump (despite the fact that he was literally Mueller’s boss) was Muh obstructing by even suggesting that mueller had several conflicts of interest that should result in his REPLACEMENT by another atty without conflicts. And he was never actually replaced.
Whereas Joe Biden outright brags about getting a prosecutor who was investigating his kid fired, and trump is now Muh Whistleblower national Security for suggesting that an American Citizen should be investigated for obstructing justice in another country.
LEFTISTS ARE THE MOST UNPRINCIPLED PEOPLE ON EARTH.

Trump’s only crime is that he’s a DC outsider that is a threat to their deep state/uni-party existence. His election represents that the people are growing tired of their shite; he must therefore be crushed.

quote:I assume that, if, big IF, President Trump told the Ukrainian president that he was going to withhold release of funds approved by Congress in a budget signed by President Trump unless Ukraine did this investigation, then that would be an unconstitutional abuse of executive powers. The President doesn't have that authority, to unilaterally withhold funds from an ally nation in order to achieve a political agenda.

Still, a Republican Senate won't vote to impeach, so even if he did, it's not going to do anything but further piss off his base of voters and push them to the polls in droves.

Correct. This is the unpardonable sin that Donald J. Trump committed.

But according to Joe Biden’s OWN words, the Vice President does. These people are such disgusting hypocrites.

their internal polling shows impeachment is a sure fired loser of the elections losing moderate and the gavel.
so they are
1-scared shitless and trying to stop the Obama Biden Ukraine Russian stuff from coming out
2-are being dictated to via AOC and the ones that finance their campaigns and were told get orange man OUT now! and they think this time it will work.
or both. it surely isn't to win an election. maybe appease the extreme leftists. but that's all that I think remains in the party is the extreme marxist left, they lost all moderacy.
