i've seen enough of grant delpit bouncing off ball-carriers and choosing to NOT wrap up, to conclude that this is not the same guy that played lights out last year...

he's biding his time; knowing that the multimillion dollar pay day is up ahead...

He won't be getting much interest from the pros if he doesn't step it up a notch and wrap up those tackles.

Kind of like how Arden Key “had the film”. He was a supposed top 10 lock regardless of what he did in his last year. In Delpits case he isn’t wrapping up. He’s simply launching a shoulder into the ball carrier with his head down and either wiffing completely or getting run right through. I think he’s lost some confidence after getting trucked against Texas.

I think we should all calm down a little bit. We know there are playmakers on this defense, because we’ve seen it before. We know Delpit is one of those guys.
Let’s consider it lucky that we’ve been playing so well on offense while the D players haven’t been playing up to the standard they previously set.
I think Delpit will come around. A Tiger doesn’t change his stripes.

This is stupid and a horrible comparison. Key was coming off an injury.

I think I heard a stat that he led the team is missed tackles last year so this is NOT something new.

Junioritis. It's a real thing in college football these days. Many of the breakout sophomores regress as juniors.

I think he’s playing scared/or changed his style ever since getting ejected for targeting against UCF. He just isn’t the same this year.

I'm praying this is sarcasm. Has to be.

Thank you for your assessment of my statement. Yes, Key was coming off an injury but he was no where near the same player that we had seen the year before. Would you say that to this point, Delpit is the same player from last year?

For some reason he’s lost about 15 lbs . His legs butt and upper body doesn’t carry the weight to be a thumper . Compared to Jamal
Adams body type he’s Cardale Flott

He will play lights out against Auburn and Alabama. Just wait. He's a first round lock no matter what he does.

He made some mistakes. He may have read too much if his own hype. He just needs to play like he did before everyone thought he was the best. He needs to be reminded that he still needs to earn it. His mistakes are mental, from what I see.

Give him some bench time to insure he saves himself for the pros.
