Not foreseeing an 11am kickoff this week, we scheduled my daughter's birthday party at 11am. (Yes, I know). THe party is at a park. We will have power. And way to bring a TV and watch the game since it's SEC Network? Can I use my phone as a hotspot to stream? Never done anything like this before.

HELP!

How old is your daughter. I mean, there really is some things more important than seeing the LSU v Vandy give live on TV.

Saying that: You should be able to (assuming there is a good cell coverage). You might go ahead and "practice" your hotspot streaming now just to be sure you have all the kinks worked out.

Cancel the birthday party. She’ll have another one next year.

You can do it using your phone or you can use a laptop. Use your phone as a hotspot, connect to phone’s WiFi on laptop, hook laptop up to tv. You’ll need an HDMI cable (make sure your laptop and tv both have HDMI ports).

You can watch the game on the laptop by going to watchespn.com. You’ll just have to sign in with your tv provider info.

Do you already know how to setup a hotspot? I think that is an extra service you have to pay for. If you don't have that capability, you can stream it on your phone and use an adapter to plug the phone into the tv's hdmi port.

The adapters are readily available at Wally World, Amazon, and each of the big box tech and office stores for about $5-15. I did a quick google search and found options for micro-usb, USB-c, and even whatever the frick iPhone uses.

I don't think casting is an option because I think that requires WiFi, but on the off chance that it uses a Bluetooth connection that may work too.

Good luck!

The best advise I can give you is to grow up and enjoy your daughter's birthday party.

Just stream it. Use an HDMI adapter to hook to your phone.

Got an iPhone and a good data plan?

LINK

Plug and play, my friend.

If you have an Android with USB type C, you can find a similar product.

Get a free trial of Sling or youtube TV and stream on your phone or ipad. They both have an app for phone and ipad.

I had to pick my parents up at the airport during the Texas game and was able to stream the game my entire drive on Sling. You can keep or cancel after the trial ends.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I am not too worried about missing the game, just trying to make sure any other dads who are out there can watch if they want.

B/c I am sure a few people will have the game up on their phones while out there, so it would be hard to not know what's going on live.

Man. Just Bring an old fashioned FM radio and put it on 98.1.

If you don't have a radio,
Use your phone to go to LSUSports.net (Audio is Free) and broadcast to bluetooth speaker.

We ain't losing to Vandy and you can keep up with the game without missing a precious birthday for your daughter. We did this for Rice last year.
