FRISCO, Texas — The future of transportation just might be taking shape in Frisco.
At Frisco Station, a helipad was just built to be the first test site for Uber Elevate. The helipad sits right next to The Star and along the Dallas North Tollway. It is larger than most helipads because it is designed to handle more than a regular helicopter.

Test flights will start in 2020. Uber hopes to make aerial ride-sharing commercially available in 2023.

Naaaaa. I'm good for now.
Wonder what the range is for those vehicles. If pricing is right, could crush airlines in the "puddle jumper" market

People have died from self driving cars. Get that down, then I’ll entertain being in the sky.

Are they going to be flown by real pilots or pakis and college kids as a side-gig?

I'm going to give it a few years before I am willing to give it a shot. I want them to work all the kinks out and kill a few dozen people before I am willing to ride.

This will be interesting as to the FL the FAA will allow them to max out at.
If I can recall, anything under FL100 (10k) has to be below 250kts, not that I think these can go that fast
However, it will be interesting where they cross paths with the regular jets coming into DFW/DAL/Denton/Addison and what safety measures will be required on the aircraft.

From another article...

Leandre Johns, Manager of Public Affairs for Uber Texas said, “Now, you are gaining time back into your life. That time can be spent with family members, with friends because that trip that was taking you from to Dallas to Fort Worth, 45 minutes to an hour, can take place in 15 minutes.
