According to @mikescott , @Nike and @NBA have banned the ninja-style tied headbands that became so popular last year. According to Scott, Nike said they appeared “unprofessional”. Bad move IMO, as players and fans loved this new style #NBA
not sure how mike Scott is the source on this (his twitter is borderline unintelligible) but it appears that the ninja look is out this year

How did that look unprofessional? Lol

Lol how is it Nike's call to say something looks unprofessional and ban it?
Also pro tennis players has been rocking those style headbands for years and years.
If Wembledon allows it, everywhere should allow it.
ETA:
This is 99% what's happening:
1. Bring attention to headbands
2. Make ppl want them that weren't aware of them before
3. Bring them back due to "uproar"
4. Profit

Correct! And for those who don’t believe should look at Nike’s past several years of profiting from controversy.

The NBA notified teams that it won't allow players to wear "ninja-style headwear" this season, NBA spokesman Mike Bass tells ESPN. The headwear "...hasn't been through the league approval process. Teams have raised concerns regarding safety and consistency of size, length ..."

arse: "When some players began wearing them last season, we didn't want to cause a disruption by intervening midseason..." NBA notified teams in May that the headwear "would not be a part of this seasons uniforms."

That makes sense. I’ve been trying to figure out why Nike felt it couldn’t profit off of this. Too many traditional headbands in inventory?

Jrue has terrorized most of the guards in the league the last 2 years, the teams that complained may be worried about the emotional safety of their players. I wouldn't be surprised if Portland was one of the teams.

He's gonna start wearing a Pelicans themed Gi and just cut off the sleeves and legs.
Jrue Jitsu. Fitting since he tends to suffocate and submit opposing players.
