Do you think we run any I formation Saturday?

First off, I’m stoked about this new offense and I trust Brady/Ensminger to call the right plays come Saturday.

But just for discussion, do you guys see us trying to pound these guys and go power/ I-formation at all? I feel like our bigs and RBs can tear up their young defense.

Yes

No. You can still be a power run team out of shotgun or in single back sets.

I hope not.

I don't get the feeling this team is led by people who want to be known as "quirky" or eccentric like the previous coach did.

This team wants to punch you in the mouth and stand over you while you bleed.

And, score lots of points so we don’t go into the 4th qtr. having to have nitro glycerine tablets on standby for our older relatives in case of cardiac arrest...

Yes you can but there is still a time & place for the I formation. That's short yardage & goal line. Even the team the current offensive system is based off (Saints) uses I formation & a fullback occasionally. If you watch enough college games week in & week out, you see so many spread teams fail in short yardage situations trying to run the ball because it simply takes a fraction of second longer to run from shotgun/pistol especially when the defense is packed in tight to stop the run.

We should early to just check out their DLine but not do a Miles and force it the whole game.

maybe in goal line situations. It's never a bad thing to throw different formations out there especially since Tory Carter is a great fullback, although I'd prefer we use him as an H-Back and think that's where his game is heading. seems like that's the new trendy position for those types of guys all throughout football

They did it occasionally last year but not as much as in year's past.

Toss dive on first play would be so funny.

Not the power I. Probably not since the 70s. The I? Sure.

The average ranter thinks spread means air raid. It's like they've never seen Auburn play

Which is crazy because Auburn uses elements of the veer in their run game. Every spread offense is not created equal.

Which is what I was referring to in the first place.

It would be nice to see a Tory Carter FB dive for a touchdown if we get down close and need to pound it in there
