Couple questions:
Is the entire map usually owned by one team at the end of the year?
How often does the national champion not own the majority/whole map?
Some crazy stuff can happen at the end. For instance, when Pitt beat Miami at the end of the year in 2017, Miami was undefeated and had a lot of territory. Pitt was terrible and lost the week before and had no territory going in.
Pitt beat Miami and didn't play in a bowl, so they got all that territory and were done for the season and the final map had a bunch of Pitt spots littered across the country

Who does one have to beat to win Alaska? Lol!
Also, what the frick are they going by here? The closest school to half of SWLA is McNeese, yet they don't appear at all. Does it only count if an FCS school beats an FBS school, ala Central Arkansas beating Western Kentucky?

Updating before the start of Week 4.

Each FBS school starts with all the counties closest to them. The winner of the game they played "takes over" the counties of the school they defeat. Ie, Cincy beat USC, so they get USC's counties. If Ohio State beats Cincy in Week 2, Ohio State gets USC's kingdom. And so on and so forth.
This is a lot of fun.

Except Cincinnati didn't beat USC.

I guess I still dont get it
Why is BYU on the map at all? Shouldnt Utah still own their land?

Does Tulane own Houston or does Oklahoma own Houston until someone beats them?
And does Auburn still own NOLA or do we get it back?

BYU beat USC so they got their territory? I'm not searching through schedules to verify.
You don't lose territory you haven't gained yet so you can always gain new land until you lose again.

Shouldn’t OU have LA?
Never mind tOSU should split LA with BYU and BYU should have taken over Stanford area

Someone has to beat OU, then they get all of OU's territories won to that point.

Auburn owns it until they lose to someone, then that team wins it.

No because UCLA didn't own it. They lost it to Cincy so they didn't have any territory to lose when they played OU.
Y'all confused af.

Utah already owned Byu, any future BYU victories should go to Utah

It's stupid but it looks like your team can be reintroduced to the map once it has another win

BYU had territory. The territory was conquered by Utah. They then started over and conquered a different territory. Utah didn't conquer that new territory.
You are making a simple concept more difficult than it should be.

Its a frick tarded map. BYU now owns as much or more territory than their Imperial owners.
They should call it "Map that changes counties based on the last team you beat, and it accumulates until you lose again."
