NRA Donors/Members: Do These Spending Allegations Concern You? (WSJ Report)

According the public records retrieved by the WSJ, Wayne LaPierre, on at least one occasion, detoured the NRA private jet 500 miles from Dallas to D.C. so they could pick up his wife’s niece in Nebraska. His niece has a low-level position with the NRA.
The Journal also reports Mr. LaPierre has spent approx. $540,000 in travel and wardrobe expenses, and aborted a plan to use $6 million in NRA funds to buy a house.
I’m curious if NRA donors/members have concerns with these expenditures, or do you reconcile these as having a nexus to a business purpose?
I know there are strict guidelines for non-profit companies, which is probably why the Journal started digging around on this.

Doesn't bother me in the slightest. If it is not 100% kosher, pay the difference and the fine and move one. If Mr. LaPierre has some criminal liablity, so be it.
But, I just wonder why this kind of scrutiny isn't on CGI and other massive endeavors favored by the left that scoop up millions for Haiti, just as an example, with no tangible results.
I know where my NRA money is going. For a fact. I don't always like it, but they're not in the habit of pissing down my back and telling me it's raining. GOA is probably even more direct and single-issue oriented, but I digress.

It isn’t much of a secret that the nra is in the midst of a leadership crisis right now. A lot of members have left and vowed not to return until reform has been implemented within the organization. Many have called for resignations, especially of Lapierre. Splinter groups have formed from former members.
The left sees this period of crisis within the nra as an opportunity to make substantive strides in the gun control movement and are applying great pressure to achieve tangible results.

I haven't been a member of NRA in 20 years. But, LaPierre outlived his usefulness long ago. Being the CEO of a non-profit for 25 years making north of $5mm is an abomination.

It bothers me but I've been a life member for years so they aren't getting any money from me now. All of my current donations that would go to the NRA go to GOA and a couple of other gun groups.
Probably time for LaPierre to go, but there are other issues, one of which is having too many board members.

Current member here and support the 2nd amendment wholeheartedly but I will not give the NRA a dime more. Like so many organization greed is the vice that takes hold.

Do you know that the National Revolver Association proposed legislation, including requiring government permission to concealed carry, waiting periods, and passing gun sales information to law enforcement, which was adopted by 9 states in the 1920’s?

The National Revolver Association was the NRA’s handgun counterpart back in the day. Look it up.
