I actually drug my boat back home. I am probably not heading back until after the first cool front comes through. Once that happens it will be on.

They are biting at night. last time I went it started at 11:30 so you have to be patient.

My bad 10lbs 8 ozs. Probably would of weighed more if I had a scale when I caught it. Wish I could have gotten an replica but would have had to drive to Toledo town to weigh it.

I don't night fish. Dark is for drinking and playing cards.

I've never fished Toledo bend. Is it patrolled by both LA and tx wildlife and fisheries? Do you only need a fishing license from the state you live in?

LA or TX license is needed.

I find when the lake low I bring the ole aluminum boat out and caught some nice bass over 10lbs.

The lake does bounce back once the water comes back up.

To the group of naked old people in the potion boat that thought it was cool to sun bathe on a beach off Louisiana Island in 2011 that was wrong!!!!!!!! Just because the lake was low does not mean there was not people on the lake.

Yes, it’s patrolled by both on their respective sides.

They have reciprocity. You can launch and remove fish anywhere on the lake as long as you possess either LA or TX license. Same for the Sabine River below the lake and Caddo Lake to the North also on the state line.

Just as an FYI, if you click the time feature on google earth back to 11/1/2006, you'll see it pretty low. Lots of outside ridges exposed.

In my terrible opinion it depends on the weather. If we get a couple of cool fronts come through and the water temp starts dropping a little, yes. If not, it will be pretty slow. There is always someone out there catching fish.

Just to give you an idea how slow the fishing is. I ran down to the indian mounds Saturday morning around 9:30 and there were 4 boats out there. That place is typically packed. There were maybe 8-10 trucks at cypress bend.

Funny story, I was at the mounds idling a ridge from one point to another and this guy and his son comes by me and cuts me off. They go circle the point I was heading to and move on. They then go to the next point and drop a buoy. I made a couple passes on the first point and see a small group of fish. I spot lock and catch 3 fish on my first 3 casts. I look over and there are watching us. My dad then catches one. They went pick up their buoy and hauled arse. I then went to the point they left and caught a couple more.

Yeah, I use that feature to go see the actual creeks that feed the pockets.

We planning on going in March and was wondering if the draw down will continue until then?

It shouldn't but it depends on the amount of rain we get to fill it back up.
