Fair enough. But see the comments to this thread as well as every other thread on PT and you’ll find just about entire PT board will defend anything and everything.

Oh, you want to publicly shut me down? Well then, you're not getting all that global PR of a presidential visit. Get back with me when you can learn to keep your mouth shut.

This. You listen to and talk to fake news, you move to the back of the line.

That’s a ridiculous statement in this context.

rumor has it that the greenland talk is just a distraction - individual one cancelled because barry’s heading to denmark in a month and would be far more celebrated

I'd say that the large majority of political adherents are blind partisans.

because they won't consider selling Greenland? This seems petty and I would find it insulting as a Dane. Anyone want to show me why I should change my opinion?

You rather him use our tax money to go on a trip that the PM already said it wont happen? Why waste the tax dollars??

Trump should have kept this on the low so as not embarrass the PM. Should have tactfully raised the subject: I think what we are talking about is Greenland becoming a U.S. protectorate to Russia and China out. Something like 40-50% of Danish GDP is going to Greenland. They might have been open to it if Trump hadn't acted like a bull in a china shop.

I think you got it backwards. The Dutch PM should have never dignified the fake news media by commenting on the subject. Her comments were an attempt to embarrass the president of the USA regardless of whether Trump had any real intentions of buying greenland.

That alone was worthy of getting bumped off the schedule.

Because the trip was planned before Trump ever gave one thought to Greenland.

It’s naive thinking such as this, namely that we as a country should treat international relations in the same manner you personally treat your relationships with your neighbors exactly the same, that I cannot understand.

“Pandering”? That word doesn’t even make sense in this context. May need to pull a dictionary junior.

The Danish Prime Minister would have no qualms about embarrassing our president why should we reciprocate

The tweet did not strike me as uncivil or disrespectful. In my opinion, Trump's time and the taxpayers dollars are not worth your opinion, but I support your right to express said opinion.

He already had the trip planned even before any of the," buy Greenland" stuff came up. At least that's what I assume.
And if that's the case, he must have deemed the trip important for other reasons.
