"I hope this email finds you well"
we were trained to do this in public accounting
I can feel the client rolling their eyes everytime i send it

I get these from our folks in the Asia offices. I always respond with, "Doing well" and answering their questions and moving on.
This is not the kind of stuff that I let bother me.

Yeah, people being polite in an email pisses me off too.

Haha.
Email etiquette is a weird thing.
That annoys me too. Not enough to ruin my day or even my minute, but maybe 2 seconds worth of irate.
I hate "Thank you for your note" as a response.
Also hate when people start with "Dear [name]". It's an email, not a 19th century letter.
And signature blocks that go beyond name, title, basic contact info.
Emails really should be direct and to the point, without being rude.
Regards,
Tigahbruh

I used to start my emails with a cordial salutation. Now I just say “What’s kickin’ Dick-licker”

That;s not an uncommon phrase in all sorts of correspondence. It does seem a little archaic, however.
Posted on 8/15/19 at 3:56 pm to baybeefeetz
Would you rather “how the frick you doing”
Posted on 8/15/19 at 3:59 pm to baybeefeetz
Definitely thread worthy topic

Just reply "actually, no, I am not well so quit hoping I am."

The checker clerk and the bagger girl both told me to "have a bless-ed day" at the Winn Dixie.
Figured it's a popular new thing.

Was the email from Andy Dufresne? If so, badass!
