Even if this true, I see Brady calling plays before the season is up

Brady's responsibilities will likely increase to the point he's taking over at some point of the year. He just needs experience.

I mean... Maybe so. But what are you basing this on?

Brensminger. They are a hybrid being with the enthusiasm of Brady and the knowledge of Ensminger

Someone answered about 5 posts in which sounded like a well-known arrangement.

But after reading through this stuff I don't think anyone here really knows.

Throw something on the wall and hope it sticks.

Ensminger is the offensive coordinator. The offensive coordinator calls plays.

Ensminger is the OC, he’ll call the plays but Brady will set next to him in the press box and have some input. As Orgeron said “Joe Brady will have the next play ready and if Steve wants to go with it then he can” I expect Brady will eventually take over as OC in the near future, if somebody else doesn’t poach him away first.

I also believe that I heard that Brady was seen walking on water...

I think Brady has a sharp mind and will be an asset, but you people are building him up very high for a guy has officially accomplished ZERO. I'm not saying he won't be great....I am just saying slow the roll a little.

Member when Cam was supposedly calling the plays?
Yeah, because there's maybe 3 or 4 pics of Miles holding a playsheet in 12 years at LSU.

All we can go off of is what O and Ensminger themselves have said. They've said it's Ensminger's offense and he calls the plays. Brady will be up there with Ensminger and can suggest a play and Ensminger can call it if he wants. But Ensminger is ultimately the gatekeeper.

Probably because Brady is basically the Co-Dc now, never really wanted to be OC and will be doing a lot of the play selection already

quote:

"You know, Steve's getting older now," Orgeron said. "Joe's 28. They lean on each other. Joe is tremendous in the meeting room. When Steve has a question, Joe always seems to have an answer.

quote:

If he needs Joe, Joe is going to give it to him."

It's pretty clear Brady is being groomed to be the next OC.

Brady will tell Ensminger what to say...kinda like how Cheney told Bush what to say.

Ah yes, and a team with championship aspirations is just the place for him to get that experience.

Absolutely.

Coaches don't move up the ranks very well working with shitty talent.

You're not going to impress someone working at Kansas, or Syracuse.

You'll have much more success working with players actually capable of running an offense.

I think Dino Babers is looking pretty smart right now.

That's precisely how you know if a coach has the goods. Any half-decent coach should be able to do well with elite talent. What do you do with mediocre/lesser talent demonstrates a coach's talent.

You won't impress someone by showing you can run a good offense at a school with less talent? This makes absolutely no sense

lets take Herman for example...

Coaching career (HC unless noted)
1998 Texas Lutheran (WR)
1999–2000 Texas (GA)
2001–2004 Sam Houston State (WR/ST)
2005–2006 Texas State (OC/QB)
2007–2008 Rice (OC/QB)
2009–2011 Iowa State (OC/QB)
2012–2014 Ohio State (OC/QB)
2015–2016 Houston
2017–present Texas

See how coaching progression works....?
