Mississippi State couldn’t throw a forward pass against us. They completed 8 passes in that game. They had no choice other than to run Fitzgerald every play.

Not so sure about the rationale for downplaying the defensive performance against State. State was one dimensional and we knew it, and we still gave up 200 yards rushing. That would imply the defensive performance was perhaps worse than the statistics indicate, not better.

Actually your logic is arsebackwards and that is being polite LOL! State's offense was good enough to have some type of yards. I mean when a team completes less than 8 passes very likely total yards for passing will be less than 100, which in fact was the case (58 yards total). Moo U only gained 260 total so the rest had to come from running the ball. If they had gained 200 on the ground AND in the air in a balanced attack that was not skewed because of one side of their balance being completely shut down then that would be a different story.

260 yards allowed per game will win a lot of games if the offense is just barely adequate and does not turn the ball over. There is more to the story about the 200 yards allowed on the ground once someone looks at the details. Not very hard to understand unless someone doesn't want to support what other effed up agenda they champion.

There’s 3 nfl DL on the line and some depth at NT. Best pass rusher is back and will let the DL get those 1 on 1s. Not hard to connect the dots. I don’t understand how people can be so illogical but whatever

I think the changes in offensive philosophy will bode well for our offensive line. The offense will be more quick strike, and the O-line won't have to give the QB as much time.

Bingo. The defense will be about the same. In this current landscape, OFFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS.

To date Stingley, Davis-Price & Emery Jr. are all potential... You not worried about the RBs or CB opposite of Fulton? Please tell me how CEH has proven more than Lawrence & Fehoko

What is wrong with you?

Do you not understand that players generally improve over time?

Because of injuries and lack of bodies, DL was an issue in 2018. We now have more bodies and the guys who were hurt/playing injured are healthy to start the year.

I'd certainly rather be in our situation with so many returning starters than in Texas' situation of having to replace a bunch of them.

Go find a safe space and chill.

Considering he's only started 4 games here, I'd agree. But on the other hand this hype is coming from the coaching staff.

The coaches say a lot of shite. Like how giles couldn't be guarded in practice. Ed talks a big game.

I wouldn't worry to much about Coach Aranda's defense with health and depth.
The D will be much improved even without Sir Devin

This is literally the summary of LSU football the past 10-12 years. Where have you been?

But this year is supposed to be different. Our offense is supposed to be different. I think it will be. I think our offense will move the ball against most teams this year. But there will be a few key games where our offense will sputter. Does our defensive front have what it takes to get us the win in those games?

Injuries to Lawrence, fehoko, Alexander, Chaisson, shelvin being out of shape ect... wouldn't have a big impact at all. Idiot.

Chaisson has barely been at practice yet. What makes you think he’s back at 100%. Lawrence is coming off of surgery. Shelvin hasn’t shown a damn thing since he’s been at LSU.

Hey, I hope you’re right. I want this team to win. But I don’t think I’m an idiot because I have a legit concern. I think I’m a realist.

You’re the one who is all wound up, Chief.

We don’t know how good this front will be. Chaisson is a big question mark at this point. He’s barely made it through practice. If he’s healthy, great! But we still have a very small sample size to even know if he’s good.

Why do you think there’s something wrong with me because I want our defensive front to be better than average? We’ve seen these guys before, and they are good, but not great. Maybe they’re healthy now. Maybe they are improved. Maybe we have quality depth.

All I’m saying is that’s a lot of maybe’s, and y’all are all trying to tell me those maybe’s are sure things. I hope you’re right. I really do. It’s just a concern. I’m not freaking out, but I am concerned. But I’m not losing sleep over it. I’m chill.
