Concealed carry question when pulled over by cop.

This has been bugging me because I am not quite sure what I should do. Need the OB’s advice.
I drive my wife’s old Jeep Grand Cherokee to and from work to save mileage on my new truck. Problem is the automatic driver side window is broken. I had it looked at and was quoted $500 so I said no thanks.
Let’s say I am pulled over by a cop. I need to hand them my CCL, Driver’s license, and insurance. Let’s say there is not a gun in the vehicle which I need to verbally tell the police offer while handing him my info. Do I open the door up? Do I lower the rear driver side window and tell them my driver window is broken?
I understand profiling is important for cops to be alert and save. I am ok with that. I am worried because it is an older vehicle, I am a bigger guy with a beard, and I mostly drive in the early AM when it is still dark outside. A female cop might be on high alert.
So how do I go about giving the cop my info in the safest manner?

Turn on your interior light, put your hands on the steering wheel and sit there. Wait until they get to the window. Yell “the window is broken, is it cool if I open the door?” Do what they say.

Just pull over. Jump out fast as you can, and reach for ur back pocket for ur ID.

Do this until you fix it yourself. Even if the motor has to be replaced it only takes about 30 minutes.

Sounds like good advice. Maybe I should have the door unlocked before they approach just in case they want to open the door for me.

Depending on who pulls you over(SO, PD, State), they may have you exit the vehicle via loudspeaker. If possible, let them know ASAP that the driver's window won't go down. Don't make any stupid moves and you'll be OK.
FWIW, I retired in 2012 from law enforcement and that would be my advice.

Agree with Tiden up. If they have an MDT most states return the CCW flag when they run your plate and registered owner info.

Why are you handing over your carry permit and telling them there isn't a gun when you don't have one?
And fix your window. It's not hard

This too. If you aren't carrying, no need to alert them about it. If you are carrying, it was just a courtesy in my view. Don't do anything stupid and you shouldn't have any problems. And fixing that window would save you from having this worry.

Roll down the driver side rear window, inform them of the problem and if you have a gun or not ... If you stay cool and calm, so will the cop. In experience , they will tell you to crack the door or even open if they feel there is no threat .

I also agree with this ... (people tell me this on a daily basis . ) Not that I’m looking to get into a job discussion.

La Law:
The permit shall be retained by the permittee who shall immediately produce it upon the request of any law enforcement officer. Anyone who fails to do so shall be fined not more than one hundred dollars. Additionally, when any peace officer approaches a permittee in an official manner or with an identified purpose, the permittee shall:
Notify the officer that he has a weapon on his person;
Submit to a pat down;
Allow the officer to temporarily disarm him.

I've been pulled over probably 100 times, and never once did I say I wasn't carrying when I wasn't carrying, and will put him on edge. It's just not info that needs to be included in the conversation. It's like telling a cop you didn't shite in your pants last week.
Idk where people get this stuff. Maybe it's too much YouTube or something

Officer discretion plays a part. Same can be said about warnings vs citations. I took it as a courtesy, unless my gut told me otherwise. Time of day, location, circumstances play a role.

I agree ... I’ve been recognized on this board as who I am and what I do , and yes I’m a cop . With saying that , just be honest . I can tell if you are or not regardless of what you say... In my division I’m not looking to write ticket, and if you tell me your carrying or not goes a long.
I’ll give advice when needs be, but honestly I don’t post much because I don’t want my profession to over take what this board is about .
