Yeah, I'm sure half of the white nationalists voted for Obama... Wake tf up dude.

I see literal desperation on here by Republicans trying to deflect ownership for this racist movement emerging from the shadows which is being facilitated by the manchild their party put in the oval office.

Also there's not a damn single policy or plan being toted by any of the democratic presidential candidates that meets the actual definition of socialism... If you've been convinced otherwise you're a willfully ignorant person who hasn't attempted to educate themselves before speaking on the subject.

Grow some balls and face reality.

Many white nationalists are also socialists. Richard Spencer is very vocal about his support for socialism and hates the Bill of Rights, but yea he's "right" in American politics.

Like I said, a lot of the white nationalists share leftist ideology on matters of economics and governance. Do you really believe they're ALL supporters of free-market capitalism and limited government? LOL. You'd also be surprised to read about some white nationalists who actually did support Obama.

Thank you. Correct. Richard Spencer, who may be the most influential and outspoken white nationalist in America is a self-described leftist. But since he's a white nationalist, the lying, liberal media labels him as "alt-right".

You are conflating safety net socialism with actual socialism and it's kind of pathetic

Specifically, what statement did I make that "conflated safety net socialism with actual socialism"?

Nope. I've researched some white nationalists and discovered that many of them are socialists, communists and fascists, all of which are statist, left-wing ideologies.

Post some specifics to further your argument.

Uhhh, he claims to have coined the term “alt-right” and refers to his movement as “alt-right”. Did you miss that in your extensive research?

For starters, here's a brief interview he did wherein he expresses the leftist view that all rights come from the government and not from God, as many on the right believe.

Pretty sure that you might be one of the few people that Richard Spencer ever influenced.
Congrats, you are part of a small group.

What viewpoints does Richard Spencer espouse that would align with mainstream, right-wing thought?

This might be one of the dumbest things I have read on this board.

And that says a lot

Excerpts from Spencer's interview:

D’Souza gets Spencer to admit that all rights come from the state. Spencer shrugs off the idea of natural rights, opting for a statist opinion that “ultimately the state gives rights to you.” Spencer said he did not admire Reagan but instead looked to presidents Jackson and Polk as role models.

When confronted on Jackson being the founder of the Democratic party, Spencer demurred, “Party is just the vessel one uses,” Spencer replies.

Later in the film, Spencer admits that he could be aligned with the political views of a “progressive Democrat from the 1920s.” D’Souza eventually gets Spencer to identify as a “progressive” in his world views after explaining the roots of the Democratic party.

“I guess I’m a progressive,” Spencer says in the footage.

FWIW, here's an article that discusses David Duke coming to the defense of Representative Ilhan Omar over her criticisms of Israel. One thing white nationalists and many leftists have in common is a mutual hatred of Israel.

Eliminating private health insurance?

"Nationalizing" CO2 emissions to the point cows and airplanes will be eliminated?

If those aren't socialist policies, they will do until "real" socialism comes along.
