That’s true also. Hilton is a freak. The other one in the top 100 from Walker I think Brian Thomas is his name(??) is like 6’5. Could be wrong on the name. Those are just the top in state receivers.

Hilton is the top guy in state and a composite five star, and between the composite and 247s rankings there are four other WRs in state rated as four stars.

Chris Hilton, 5 star
Brian Thomas Jr, high 4 star, top 100 player
Quincy Brown, high 4 star
Destyn Pazon, 4 star
Solomon Lewis, 3 star composite currently but wont be long, 4 star per 247

OOS, both these guys have visited this week and expressed serious interest

Emeka Egbuka, 5 star, top 10 ATH projects at WR
Gavin Blackwell, high 4 star, top 100 player

My only gripe is that LA is absolutely loaded at WR next cycle and there are several out of state that are showing high interest. There is a 5* WR from 21’ on campus right now and he’s already talking about setting up his next visit. Just by default we probably end up turning away guys at or above Moore’s level next year, but I understand the need to not count them before they hatch. Hopefully it’s truly a sign they’re looking to move towards more 4-5 wide sets and really plan on using them all.

These are my thoughts exactly. Very well stated, DT.

I am happy to get him if for no other reason I do not think all three of the other receivers stick.

I think the most surprising thing about this class is that we have three highly rated receivers in it, two from out of state. Its not like early playing time is guaranteed with Marshall, Chase, Palmer and Lee all coming back next year.

I would love to have all four, but would happily give up a wr spot in this class to a similarly rated offensive lineman.

Whats really unfortunate is Louisiana is absolutely loaded with receivers in the 2021 class. I wish it was loaded with the big uglies.

Thanks. I saw Egbuka was on campus too. Him Hilton and Thomas alone would be a huge pull.

Y’all think Shadrach commits to A&M tomorrow or do we have a shot after the visit?

They need WR.

LSU has 4 Sr’s that will graduate

Justin Jefferson who could go pro after this season.

Then

Kirkland, McMath & Jenkins are all in between positions. Not sure where Devonta Lee will play either.

Moore is a take, they aren’t turning away a kid from a local power. They learned their lesson with Etienne

My thought—— take Koy Moore now because there is a chance we might loose Rakim Jarrett!

what are you talking about we need 4 receivers, we have marshal, chase, mcmath and jefferson isn't going pro we also took 2 wr's last cycle, really 2 would be enough. We need some beef on the OL or a top 100 game-changer type guy, anyone else doesn't make sense.

One thing that jumps out to me watching his film, and it's rare to see a HSer with this ability, is he can shake guys without breaking the timing of his routes. And he runs very precise routes, another thing uncommon with HSer's. Not blazing speed, but good, and he has very good open field vision. He'll be a very good one at the next level.

Wrong

Someone’s never followed roster construction when LSU was at its peak

They are all playing WR right now.

We have plenty WR's for next season already, plus the 3 in this class, plus plenty good ones in state for the next recruiting class. We don't need 4 wr's in this class.

WE have other bigger and more pressing needs than another WR who will probably be buried on the depth chart

Sullivan & Giles when I made that post

The fact that they changed positions tells you enough if you’ve followed CFB long enough

We only signed one true WR last year. Given the new system and losing some WRs to graduation or the pros, we probably need four this year if they are good

Devonta Lee is still a WR even though he's listed an ATH. Then you have Trey Palmer from that same year. We had Marshall, Chase, and Jenkins from the previous class (Jenkins will be a RS sophomore in 2020). We'll also have Racey McMath as a senior if he's still here by then. Add the 3 we have and that's 9 total receivers. That's a good number for an air raid team, so I know it's good enough for what we'll do.

I love the guys we have right now. Unless Rakim wants to leave, I see no real reason we should get Moore when we have more pressing needs.

I have to say, I was not in favor of taking Koy Moore until I just watched his film. The way people talk on here, you would think he wasn't a complete receiver. But, the only thing I see that he doesn't have is elite break-away speed.

I love his hands. Dude seriously has some of the best hands I've seen from a prospect. He's up there with Jarrett and Chase in that department. I think he's a take.
