Heading to Houston tomorrow and was wanting to try either the Pit Room or Pinkertons because they both seemed like a good choice. Which is better?

Truth is best in Houston. If you can travel 30 min go to killens in old pearland. Not the steakhouse, the bbq joint

I was impressed with Truth’s sides...the bbq didn’t wow me.

Killen’s is living on their reputation of being the first legit bbq place in Houston from 5 years ago...I certainly wouldn’t drive to Pearland for it.

I think this is the first time I've ever disagreed with you re: Houston food.

Killen's brisket and beef rib is still the GOAT, imo.

If you’re from out of town, either of those is good. When you order brisket, order it “outside moist”

You’ll never order brisket another way.

For my money, pinkerton's wet rib is the best in the city

Right now, feges might have the best brisket

Have not had blood bros yet. Will let you know next friday

I like the flat. You can hide mistakes in the point. It's more forgiving. You find a place that makes a tender, moist flat, they know BBQ.

Corkscrew up north is my Houston favorite and it's not even close.

Top tier;
Pit Room
Roegels (won't get the love some of the others do but it's very good)
Corkscrew
Killens (1 mo. ago; best brisket ever)
Truth

Second tier
Brett's in Katy
Pinkertons
Brisket House

There's a bunch of newcomers that I haven't been to yet. The other posters will help you on those.

I’ll defer to others as I haven’t been to Truth or a lot of other places in Houston. But I have been to Blood Brothers BBQ and it is pretty good. Also, if you’re downtown, El Burro & the Bull in the conservatory is really good.

Next on the list. At the end of the day, you’re splitting hairs between Truth, Pitroom, Pinkertons, Roegels, Feges and Killens. All pumping out awesome cue and people get too worked up over who’s got the best brisket.

Truth’s line gets long and they sell out, gotta go for lunch. Feges is in an office building food court, not the best atmosphere and not open on weekends. Pit Room has awesome Tex Mex style Q, Pinkerton more east Texas. It’s a good time in Houston to be a bbq fan.

Pit Room was pretty damn good when I ate there. Looking forward to trying Pinkertons and Truth, (since this board seems to be money when it comes to Houston Q).
