I have a bullmastiff best dog I ever owned. Absolutely love the breed. Someone else that post here bought from the same litter as I got mine from.

I have a boxer currently. My next dog will either be another boxer or a doberman. I am really leaning towards the doberman.

Best dog I have ever had. Great with kids (providing you exercise early and often) and alert. Can be a protector, but usually reserved as long as she knows her pack (us as a family) are fine.

My boxer is not a good protector. Shoot, she hasn't barked in almost 8 years. She is really good with the family, though.

I currently have an 8 year old French mastiff. He a damn a-hole. He will do what he's told but man he can just be a dick sometimes. Intelligent to the point of knowing what he's doing is wrong and does it anyway just to do it. Good with kids though.

We have one and he's been the perfect house dog and very very protective. But if a lion wants some, they're gonna have to come inside bc my boy ain't leaving the air conditioner for long lol

Your dobe has always been one of my favorite dogs that gets posted here. She looks like what the breed was meant to be.

Check your homeowner's insurance first. Some insurance companies have a list of breeds that would disqualify you from coverage. Mastiff is one such breed.

I have a friend with an Italian Mastiff and if he goes a couple days without picking up the poop in his back yard he has to use a wheel barrow to get it all.
Its poops look like pasture ant hills.
Great dog, very loyal and would completely eat (like nothing left) anyone who tried to hurt his kids.

Your dog looks very fit. How much do you feed her on a daily basis?

She weighs 61.6 lbs. and receives 1.25 cups per food twice daily.
Most people overfeed their dog.
I use this brand of food:

They're not long lived. Obviously, they eat like a teenage boy. There is the drool, the very loud bark and the sheer space they take up.
They also have some chronic health issues both outside and related to their short-lived status.
Their favorite exercise is watching you do something, so if that's your idea of a good dog, then maybe go for it.

My vet was adamant about not allowing him to have “people food”.

This is key. My dog's diet consists of food (posted above), an occasional bully or trachea stick and some dog treats that are really low in calories in exchange for keeping her brain stimulated with tricks.
