And, his playing partner has enough concentration to still qualify. Unreal.

Lol imagine how infuriating this must have been

quote:

“He would chip shots and scoot his ball around on the tee box just to add strokes, and then he would just pipe a 2-iron down the middle of the fairway, hit it on the green and then just scoot his ball around again with his putter,” Fortis said. “He’d be right next to the hole and then I guess he’d think to himself that he didn’t have enough strokes and he’d hit his ball in the opposite direction of the hole.”

I'm more impressed that he kept himself from murdering this jackass.

I’m surprised they didn’t disqualify him right then and there on the course.

they did

quote:

"The Florida State Golf Association, after consulting with the United States Golf Association, has disqualified Trey Bilardello under Rule 1.2 for serious misconduct and failing to play in the spirit of the game," Beth Major, the USGA's senior director of championship communications, told Golf Digest.

Major added: "His disqualification was deemed appropriate as a result of the individual’s failure to show consideration for other players—deliberately playing away from the hole to run up his score."

Darin Green, the FSGA’s director of rules and competitions, said via email that the player, 33-year-old Trey Bilardello of Jupiter, Fla., signed for 202, but the person entering scores didn’t know how to input anything higher than 19 on a single hole.

Can you imagine this conversation?

Scorer: "We entered him for a 19."

Player: "No no. I made a 25."

Story sort of loses its luster when you find out he's not really that bad but did it on purpose.

If I was his playing partner and had a shot to qualify, I would be fricking livid.

But as an outside observer, this shite is hilarious

Sounds like something we'd make the loser of our fantasy football league do or something.

I would be livid if I was cranking beers at the muni with this guy

That takes playing a stroke per dollar spent to a new level.

And there would be your textbook definition of "zero fricks given"

After the round they did. I meant disqualify his arse like around the 12th hole. As in get the frick off the course with Sheriffs deputies escorting you disqualification.

Pretty sure no one, in golf, is talking to this guy anymore. I’d be surprised if he ever got a caddie job again. One last frick you before he starts doing something else for a living.
