Did Giles transfer or is he going to transfer? I know he is in the transfer portal but has there been any developments?

He’s going to TAMU. We traded him for Woodward under the table.
It was in Les’ secret playbook and Orgeron’s binder the whole time.

I hope not. Had a case of the #7 yips last year.

Yes, he entered the portal in June. Nothing new to report. He’s still on the roster.

I hope that he transfers, because the staff is trying to force his success, although he is not SEC caliber. Any play designed for him is a wasted play that could have been called for a more talented player. Nice kid, but he does not belong on that roster. The absolute worst return man that I have ever witnessed. He had zero positive plays, but he had multiple negative plays. Good luck to him

He needs to go to SMU or Houston...

Another Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College prospect from LSU.

Whether he transfers or not, I pray that the coaching staff realizes that he should never, ever be allowed to return punts.

Or back to Texas Tech
Things were going well for him there

He won’t see action that’s why he is trying to leave. Too many have passed him up. Unless we have a ton of injuries I doubt he plays. And I don’t think LSU has to honor the scholarship do tney ?

The 2 worst starters ive ever seen for LSU were DJ Welter and Giles.
They are THE most unexplainable situations ever.
Beck sitting behind a smaller, slower, less talented Welter
And only God knows why a smaller, slower, less talented Giles was in front of ANYONE on our roster at WR or PR

“Very confident in Jonathan Giles. Here’s a guy who we couldn’t cover last year (in practice),” Orgeron said earlier this month. “I know Jonathan Giles is on our starting roster on offense, one of our better players on offense and I’m glad to have him.”

Giles was disappointing, but we did not force anything. Giles was an average to below average return guy, his numbers about 75% of the way thru the season were in the top half of the country. He had a big return agains Miami to open the year, and until late was sure handed in his receiving punts.
Just a reminder that you can be unworthy to start or play and still not be the worst player in recorded history. Giles had enough bland play on his own, there is no need to rewrite history

I agree but he shouldn't have rewritten it. Compare his numbers to every LSU return man over the last 25 years and let me know what you come up with. Diving to the ground unnecessarily on every punt and muffing an extremely important one vs A&M. Your rebuttal is that he had an average return in the first game of the year. I do not hate him, but he proved that he didn't belong. The staff tried to force the issue all season and it was a failure.
