Posting with little context, surprising.

If spending 5 years an hour away and totaling what would be a few months in the city are little context, then sure.

This thread assumes the opportunity is there.

That's a stupid assumption.

it also goes to show your opinion is driven by perceived career opportunities

Well living anywhere with less money than you want would suck, and yeah career opportunities are a big thing for me and others. I have bigger aspirations than NOLA has to offer.

By the way I started my career in the same industry as you, in Nola. Spent a ton of time in the big Texas cities. I like them just fine and many of my friends did/do too, but most of those people have found their way home by now. There is opportunity in Nola but not to support a major city’s population.

Sounds like you have little context

Yeah I’m not really sure why we are talking about jobs

Because a poster said it was a top 5 city for young single people, which is a retarded statement unless you don't care about anything but food and drink for the rest of your life.

NOLA is small and easy to get around at night with uber and all. I'd pick a location based more on where you are working / daily commute honestly.

And I would say food and drink are high priority for 20s early 30s people.

Do the decisions when youre young not affect the outcomes of later life?

Not everyone’s completely caught up in the corporate rat race. In fact, most are not

Do LA, Chicago, New York, Miami, etc not have those?

Damn. I wish I had more than just those 2 options.

Sure. Most of those are also way more expensive for a young person to live. Since we're talking about places for young people to live, it seems new orleans is more affordable.

Again, doing something when you are young has impacts on when you aren't young

And not really. I know people in most all of them that do as good or better than the dozens I know that live in NOLA
