Was he the one that was covered in the Battered Bastards of Baseball documentary?

Great watch if nobody has ever seen it.

His book Ball Four about his comeback as a knuckleball pitcher for the Seattle Pilots (in their one and only season) was revolutionary. He also invented Big League Chew. R.I.P.

Kind of sick how baseball ostracized the guy for unveiling all the nasty shite behind baseball back then. Hell, even sports writers were railing on the guy. They got pissed because Bouton called them out for being such shitty people

Shitfrick!

Another connection to my youth gone. I read his book when I was 11 or 12. It's a must-read, IMO.

RIP, Bulldog.

Ball four is such an essential read for any sports fan considering the era it was written. RIP and thank you for your contributions Mr. Bouton

Dude was a super nice guy. Went to a weekend baseball camp he held when i was younger. His knuckleball was amazing to see live.
