Daughter is a recent graduate and has a great offer down around league city. She looks like she is taking the offer. What are the best places for her to rent an apartment. Looking for a safe place as priority number 1.

TIA

You've already done your best service to her by getting her the hell out of Louisiana.

Clearlake and league City are two of the best places around Houston, rent there.

Midtown, and have her reverse commute. She'll be bored out of her mind as a recent graduate living in League City.

All that is a pretty safe area. Look at the ones along League City Parkway in the Tuscan Lakes area.

And she'll pay double in rent and have a miserable commute home.

I would try living in the league city area first. If she doesnt like it then she could move.

What are some other priorities? What kind of area does she want to be in?

Does she want suburban living? 99% of recent grad (or under 30 crowd) will want to live "inside the loop", meaning inside of 610. Both Midtown and East Downtown will provide easy access to I-45 south. While the Heights is also a great area , in Houston for each interstate intersection you pass through your commute becomes tougher and tougher due to many of the backups happening near these areas.

I made the mistake of moving to Jersey Village when I first came to Houston. I hated it. The instant my lease was up I went to the Heights. Wasn't prohibitively more expensive. I just ended up in a smaller apartment than what I had in the burbs. I had nothing in common with the suburban families or the young people that never left the JV/Cypress area. Plus I was only 5 miles from Owlie, needed to get away.

I’d check out the Med Center area by Rice university and Hermann Park. It’s pretty nice but check out the area first.
You’re inside 610 so there’s a lot of fun stuff and the commute isn’t bad.
I used to commute from inside 610 to Sugar Land every day.
