Here's yet another question you can ask.
Should whites have bent over and picked the cotton themselves?
There were plenty of dirt poor whites and no minimum wage. You have to wonder what this country would look like now had the colonies not imported labor and allowed their profit margins to take a relatively minor hit by paying poor white folks pennies, shitty housing and three bad meals a day.

Best line of the thread!

Slavery had existed for thousands of years in probably every culture, it was a viable, often necessary and accepted economic system.
I’m aware, but it’s pretty fricking hypocritical from a society that claimed to be the Land of the Free.

A son should not be held accountable for the sins of his father. Agree.

But you might want to start a conversation with the cultures that still practice the institution.
I’d be surprised if there’s a poster on this site that has shite over Dubai and Qatar more than me.

Can’t compare the Holocaust to slavery. Holocaust was much worse.

Africa is a gigantic shithole.
I know American slaves suffered greatly. I agree that it was a somewhat good thing for their descendants.
There are some parts of Africa that still participate in a slave trade.

The Holocaust lasted for 4 years though. Slavery for well over a hundred in this country. The Holocaust was more intentionally vile, but I’m not letting slave holder’s legacies get away with it.

Slavery still exists to this day in parts of Africa and the Middle East. People of color perfected slavery not white people. White peoples were out of the slavery business over a century ago while blacks still practice it. Why is this not spoken of today? Why is slavery in America which has been abolished for over 150 years still discussed but not a peep about slavery in current day Africa and Middle East?

Doesn’t matter. It was perhaps the most vile act in world history. You don’t hear Jewish people in 2019 saying they can’t get a job or go to college because of the Holocaust.

I'd call it living in Africa.

Brutal as it was they learned a strong work ethic and are now a physically superior race in general

Because the Dems and the race hustlers in America cannot profit off of the Holocaust especially when it all happened under the watch of the left wing Nazi socialist that Democratic icon FDR admired.

Oh look, an Ole Miss fan wishing blacks weren't ever here, go figure.

I think Charles Barkley said that too. (paraphrasing)
"I'm glad my ancestors were able to go through slavery and survive so I didn't have to grow up in Africa."
The only people who deserve reparations are the actual slaves...and they're all dead.
Descendants of slaves already got their reparations...in being born here in this day and age from the sweat and tears of their ancestors...and not be stuck in Africa...that's the gift they gave future generations which are owed nothing. Their ancestors are owed.
You want to be born in America and it's opportunity, never experience slavery and you also want money from the government for something that never happened to you?
Paying descendants of slaves doesn't help the real people who lived that miserable existence...and future generations are ungrateful for their sacrifice.

There are mass atrocities in which we’ve all benefited. I’m not going to defend them. Yes, I only exist thanks to American slavery, but does that make it worth it? The chances of you actually existing are far more than in the hundreds of trillions, so you’ve already won the lottery simply by being born, especially as a human in the greatest country in the world.
That’s not a rabbit hole I am willing to go down since some other person from a completely different timeline will also say any mass atrocities that happened there are worth it due to his existence. It’s just biased bullshite from everyone and doesn’t excuse immoral behavior.

Seriously, imagine if the Thousand Year Reich came to fruition. Let’s say it’s 800 years down the line. There’s mass technology, no one starved, everyone is prosperous..... but to do that they cleansed all non-Aryan ethnicities directly murdering billions of people hundreds of years earlier.
Now tell me sitting here today: would the modern day suffering be worth this future? I argue it wouldn’t. It’s easy to sit here gloating about how great life is for modern day blacks (and people in general) when they didn’t pay the bill.

Did that happen to you? Did you report it to the police?
