My Non OT Baller Garage... let the popcorn ceiling insults begin.

Nothing special, but I'm proud of it so far.. Just moved into this house two months ago so I'm happy with the way things are going. Garage organization has been my latest tackle.
Leading up to that was getting moved in and unpacked obviously, pulling out insulation from under the house, painting, installing gutters, installing a gutter drain pipe that runs under the sidewalk, lots of landscape trimming, lots of hanging shite, running wire for speakers, running wire for digital antenna, installing digital antenna, running wire through walls for all TVs so they are mounted with no wires showing (power, hdmi, etc) plus probably several other things I'm forgetting.
Cant believe I've done so much in two and a half months. Little bit every day after work and a major job or two each weekend. Have to give huge props to my girlfriend who has kept me fed and my clothes cleaned through the process.

How do you get the heavy stuff down off the top shelf?
Posted on 6/19/19 at 7:20 am to Pectus
Obviously with one of his four ladders

What type of containers are those with the blue lids?

Looks good!
I am interested in more details about that pulley system you used/designed for the kayak lift...

What overhead shelving did you use?
I’ll soon be in the market.

I can see why you did the popcorn ceiling. Those tape lines at the seams are showing through even with all that heavy handed crap trying to hide them.
How's that for "Popcorn Ceiling Insults"?

They arent showing through, the walls have to be painted. Another thing on the list to do that could wait for the time being.

The stuff on the overhead storage are things I dont use much. Plumbing supplies, electrical supplies, painting supplies, pesticides, and garden seed starting stuff, etc.

I wanted one that would hold two and get high enough to be above the garage door. There are some for sell for cheap, but I didnt like them for different reasons. Durability, ability to hold two, etc.
So I made this one. I ordered the pulleys and a winch from home depot. The metal bars it rest on are chain link end posts that where actually here when I moved in. Then the steel cable came from harbor freight, 100 feet for 13 dollars. The weakest link is probably the pulley that directs the wire from ceiling down to the winch. Its rated at 420 pounds. So plenty for what its holding.

Then what is that depression in the ceiling that is over the left side of the red container and the other one that looks to be about 4 ft. over from that one to the right of the pic???
Sure looks like the tapered end of the sheetrock seam not floated level, and I've done a lot of sheetrock hanging and finishing in my time.

Just food containers from walmart.
I didn't want bins without lids because bugs always end up in them. And I didn't want drawers cause they dont hold enough and arent portable. So I built that.

Hey at least you have a garage, all i have is a carport with the tiniest storage space ever.
One day I would love to convert my carport into a garage in metairie but thats probably super expensive.

Yeah, I'm guessing if painting was a priority it would have been done before you attached all that stuff to the walls. I think it looks fine.
A lot of redundancies in the tools. Could free up some space with a trip to the Salvation Army.

Like what? The hammers and hand saws? Some of those were my dad and grandfathers.
