Well I, for one, see this as a great move by DC.
ETA: Or apparently they didn't make this move?

OIC. I should have known better than to respond to an OP with no link.

Too bad it's a 100% fabrication.

EDITED TO ADD - I see that JJ has not been confirmed for anything in the DCEU, but my points still stand, and I think Johns at the helm will end up righting the ship anyways.
Awesome, JJ is great at this kinda stuff, and there are so many stories to pull from that they can erase the shite that Snyder did while keeping continuity... it's just sad that Cavill and BatFleck have to be the casualties of Snyder.
I could honestly see a big reset in the next few films somehow - without messing with WW, Aquaman, or Shazam. There are so many stories to pull from, maybe they could do a mini-crisis with some minor characters? I know they just hired someone to do Green Arrow.
I know this is crazy... but they could also use the CW shows to pull it off (since Crisis is this fall)

And they can bring back Chris Reeves and Marlon Brando.
And JJ can do a crossover with Star Trek and Star Wars.
And Spider-Man can be in the Justice League.
And free popcorn.

They were all working together to chart it. Travarrow and Johnson were both working on their movies before JJ released his, he was in on all that conversation. He chose not to use Luke and let it go down this path. 9 will decide his fate for me, right now frick that guy.
He did choose to not use Luke, the other stuff in this paragraph is false.
Travarrow wasn't announced for episode until summer 2015.
And none of the movies were charted out.

TFA was released in December, so yes he was there before release.
They all were having to work together because Rian was charting his out based on what JJ was doing and Travarrow had to do the same based on both of them. They were working on all 3 films at the same time, obviously TFA was wrapping up when Travarrow was just beginning and Travarrow’s work was probably tossed when JJ took back over.
If JJ loves Star Wars as much as people claim, he should of been involved with where Rian was taking it after he handed him the reigns.

There has been no official mention of JJ Abrams being the head of DC
However, It would be no surprise if that happened. WB is bringing him on for a shite ton of money. They're not bringing him on to direct rom coms . He's going to in charge of something big. Maybe multiple properties. Who knows.
ETA: I will also mention that he was very close to directing a Superman movie years ago.

I read most of his Superman script. It wasn’t good.

He was on board for 9, he would of saw scripts and could of went to Kathleen and said it was a mistake. I doubt any of that happened. He just let it happen.
He wasn’t on board for that until Episode VIII was already shot. He had no creative control whatsoever over that movie. And if he did have concerns and brought them up to Kennedy, she would have ignored him.

Did you make it past the third grade? It’s the third time in this post you’ve replaced “of” with “have”.

It had already been filmed by the time he got on board and was in the editing room. Rian influenced the end of the movie since JJ was going to take BB-8 with Rey, but Johnson wanted to use R2 with Luke, so JJ obliged him that one.

This is just ignorance or a lie.

What if Kennedy didn’t want him there anymore and found TFA to be to safe and take it in a completely different direction than JJ wanted? That seems to be more likely to me.

with Kennedy bulling the strings, it was more likely that bitch just wanted a yes man to do her bidding - and she got it with Rian. now JJ is back because Disney doesn't want the level of fallout all over again.
but to the OP - you are literally the stupidest fricking idiot in existence if you believe JJ ruined SW and ST

How so? Rian had to lean on JJ with where to go with his film. Travarrow hired in Aug ‘15 had to have been sitting down with both to get an idea of his own direction. They had to work together before TFA was released in Dec ‘15.

Well she has a change of heart pretty quick and brought him back.
In the end it all comes down to 9, is he going to play it safe, continue down the path Disney is appearing to want to go, or bring it back. It’s not just Kennedy, Disney uppers had their chance to change the direction. They stuck with her.

The movie was well almost finished with post when he was announced. He didn't start work, well what he attempted, until TLJ was in production.
No they weren't working on all 3 films at the same. Rian was writing TLJ while they were filming TFA, but he wasn't writing it or charting out ideas with JJ. There were even things JJ had to change, after the fact, before TFAs release.
All 3 weren't working on the movies at the same time
The one knock on the trilogy that no one can dispute is that they didn't have any kind of road map at all
I do agree, jj probably scrapped whatever was in place for 9 when he came on board. He is using a lot of ideas he has that didn't fit into TFA.
Posted on 6/19/19 at 1:22 pm to OMLandshark
OML is spot on. Other than they wanted JJ for all 3 back in 2012 but he only wanted to do 1.
JJ had nothing to do with TLJ.

Say what you will about JJ, but at least he wouldn’t have completely ruined what could’ve been the greatest live-action Superman in Henry Cavill.
The way Cavill has been wasted in the DCEU is probably the biggest travesty of the whole Snyder-verse IMO.
I can't agree more. MoS would have felt completely different feel had they even just not used that stupid fricking filter. It was like Snyder didn't understand the character at all.

I still can’t believe they went straight to the Dark Knight Returns as the second film in the franchise. That move alone was dumber than anything in The Last Jedi.
1. Batman Begins
2. The Dark Knight
