I picked some tomatoes, cayenne and baby Lima’s today

Have some shrimp to go in the lima’s with a bit of butter salt and pepper.
Tomato pie and smoked tomato tarter sauce. This is my third pick so I’m getting full of tomatoes.
I’ll take tomato suggestions. I’ve canned about a dozen pints and made a good tomato salsa. And of course loads of sandwiches.

You speak of your tomato harvest every year and I get so jealous.

Do you freeze things you make with the tomatoes? I think a smoked tomato mixture in a pasta sauce or soup would be great. Had a sauce at Delmonico a few years ago.

I freeze tomatoes whole, skin on. Put a few in a vacuum sealed bag and in dead of winter you have home grown tomatoes for sauces.
Can you share your smoked tarter sauce recipe?

Tomato soup for sure. Like they make at La Madeline. I love that soup there so much I pass on the onion soup.
Nice crop btw.

This is our favorite pizza sauce. We use extra garlic. At about the two hour mark, it all comes together.
