Probably mid to late 80s

There are things that I don't like about BR but it's home. I'd prefer to live somewhere with mountains and more seasons but my wife isn't interested in even discussing moving right now.

For a small city it makes no sense how bad BR's traffic is. Like sure, L.A.'s traffic is worse than BR, but L.A. also has like 20 times the population. For the little thing that BR is, the traffic is as bad as it gets.

guess if your life revolved around college football it would be okay

If all things are equal, I would like more to live in Tennessee. However, there is quite a bit to do and lots of food options so I'm content. We don't even go to campus anymore, too much traffic and people, for games. St. George is pretty nice, you should try it.

Family and invested too much time with the work company.

If I can start over fresh at 22, I'd be gone.

This thread yet again, really? If you don’t like Baton Rouge then don’t live in Baton Rouge.

I never want to be near your vicinity much less “feel you”.

It's humorous to see the coonasses, who constantly trash N. Louisiana, get all butthurt when someone points out that BR without LSU and the state Capitol is just Shreveport south. If they took LSU out of BR, I'd prefer Shreveport between the two - or at least Bossier City.

The OP is absolutely right. Grew up in BR, went to/graduated from LSU, and I would never entertain the idea of moving back. LA will always have a special place in my heart, but I’m fine with just visiting.

If you love BR, own it and I’m happy for you. If you love NOLA, own it and I’m happy for you too. Just not for me because I’ve seen and live(d) in better places.

GEAUX TIGAHS and Forever LSU though!

Wrong

Broome is the worst thing to happen to BR in a very long time

Crime in Baton Rouge spiked after Katrina and hasn't slowed down since.

As far as traffic, as long as the suburbs and surrounding parishes get bigger the worse traffic will become and the failure to do anything about it will magnify the problem.
