Duplantis at Next Level

For all you baseball guys, how does Duplantis look as an MLB prospect?
Posted on 6/5/19 at 9:22 pm to tigerbait915
The 5 tools of baseball are: speed, power, hitting for average, fielding and arm strength.
Will have to hit for a very high average. They won’t like his below average arm and wont be hitting many homeruns.

Well there must be a reason he went in the 12th round and not higher

He was drafted in the 12th round. I think kind of tells you what “baseball guys” think of him as s prospect.
He’ll get a shot in the minors to prove himself, but I don’t know if you can say anyone EXPECTS him to become a MLB player

Have you ever watched him at LSU besides the first 15 games (give or take) this year?

He’s the BEST player on the team at putting the ball where he wants!

Will be lucky to get called up in a few years

Lots can happen. It wouldn’t shock me to see Duplantis in the MLB one day.

Tony Kemp is playing in the bigs so AD has a shot.

Stevenson was an elite outfielder. He had tremendous, speed, great reach, an excellent first step and angle, and a golden glove. His last year at LSU he developed into a good hitter. He had a below average arm, but that was really all that was wrong. He made up for that by stealing hits that no other outfielder would get.
I did not see him as a definite MLB, but I knew that if he could hit he was a no-doubt-about-it MLB player. As another poster said about Duplantis, he’ll need to hit very well.

The OP probably didn't watch much baseball, but tuned into the Stony Brook game and saw them ridiculously put a shite on Duplantis. So now he equates that to him not being able to use the other side of the field. Let's ignore the fact that he got a hit both times against it, with one being TO THE OPPOSITE FIELD.

Will never see a MLB field
