Hazard couldn’t even make the PL best 11 despite his best season in blue.

I’ll take both to Los Blancos and decide.

I’m just saying one of the lists was wrong.

He’s at 5/4 odds right now, behind only Messi at 1/1. Salah and Mane round out the top 4 on most sites

I guess only attacking players count according to the guy laughing. LFC had attacking in spades and won shite until VVD. Is this the fricking Heisman Trophy now?

Although I hate him, I’d put Mane higher on my list
Still think it’s Messi’s to lose.
1. Messi
2. Jota
3. Jimenez
4. Neves
5. Any heretofore unnamed Wolves player

maybe, but EPL > La liga, Virg hasn't been dribbled past all season, kept a plethora of clean sheets, scored big goals for club and country....
and messi still can't score at anfield.

For the first time in a decade. The standard of play in the EPL was pretty bad between 2011 and 2016. Klopp and Guardiola improved it tremendously, but there are still some really bad teams. The technical standard is higher in Spain.
Messi is the best player in the world because of how deep he plays and the impact that he has on his team. Barca isn't a great team under Valverde when Messi doesn't play. Even in the game at Anfield, Messi played well. He created three superb chances and scuffed one more goalmouth chance. The rest of the midfield played extremely poorly, especially Rakitic and Vidal.

Had Arthur played I think Barca may have won it. He came on late and instantly changed the dynamic of the midfield. As much as I hate when people throw around the term world-class, that dude is quickly falling into that category.
On-topic:
Messi
VVD
Mbappe
Mane
Hazard

That's how I'd go, I'd love for VVD to win it, but its gonna be Messi

I noticed this too, and it was simply because he was more progressive in his passing. Rakitic and Vidal were far too slow moving the ball forward, and recyled it to Busquets, who had 90 passes that evening, which would imply he controlled the game, when he didn't. He simply served as the outlet for when Rakitic and Vidal were afraid to make a forward pass. Credit goes to Fabinho too, who did a great job patrolling the area in front of the CB's, but given the ease with which Arthur changed the midfield dynamics, I feel more of the blame should go to the Rakitic-Vidal midfield pairing than anyone else.
